So starting 2 days ago I'd get these random white flickers appearing on my screen every 5 seconds or so, and I'm not sure why. Someone suggested that I update my drivers to fix this, but it did not help. It also only happens in tf2, no other game. Anyone have any potential fixes for this?
Would it be possible to use a video recording to determine if it's a software or hardware issue?
For example OP records game play using OBS in software encoding and lets say the video shows no random flickers. Is it safe to conclude a hardware fault from that point?

When I record through OBS, I don't see the flickers on the recording, but I see it on my end.
i started getting them when i upgraded my gpu, in tf2 only. try changing your dxlevel around. that reduced the frequency to like once every 10 minutes for me
I had this start happening to me when I got a new fps config, had to mess around with my resolution settings until it stopped.
i have no idea why but it used to happen to me when i used to use chris cfg, but hasn't occurred ever since ive been using comanglia
I have the same exact issue. I never really found out what was causing it specifically, but I know for a fact it started happening after i switched from chris maxframes config to comanglia's.
