We've been troubleshooting this for what seems like days now, but my friend is having problems with his client, as well as his permissions (?) on his copy of windows. When downloading the client, he gets this:

While we shared him a copy of the .dll, he cannot simply drop it into his System32 and be done with it. Says the same problem occurs with his epic games launcher.
While we've also tried to get the client through steam, we get this error:

Something is wrong with the permissions on his computer. Not sure if it's a bad copy of windows, but he's tried upgrading to windows 10 (he's on windows 8), only returning with some kind of failure. Tried running everything as administrator, tried allowing all permissions via System32 to no avail.

if you got an error, you should prob post the actual error report instead of a description...
