I'm bored and sick at home so I thought I would write a guide for off classing as spy in 6v6. I know some of its probably really obvious but its a guide so of course there has to be obvious stuff.

----------------------------------------
The spy is one of the less commonly used utility classes in 6v6. It is most commonly used to get medic/demo picks when there's a stalemate and your team is looking for an advantage so they can push into their last. If you're a scout or roamer on your team then it is your job to play the utility classes when they're needed.
The most commonly used watched watch in 6v6 is the invisibility watch, but the cloak and dagger is also really useful because you can wait for the perfect time to strike because you're like XxXsneakysasaukeXxX or something yo 8)
The dead ringer is useful for when you want to distract the other team or gimmicky DR spy last point back caps but its not the best for getting s1ck medic picks. The gun you pick doesn't really matter but if you have viewmodels on pick the ambassador because there's a hot girl on the gun.
The best time to go spy is when you die while attacking the 2nd point and you know that there's going to be a stalemate on last. You can suicide into them during the stalemate to go switch classes but it makes it really obvious that you're going to go either spy or sniper. The best time to go spy is when they don't see it coming. (that doesnt mean go spy to mid -_- )
Ok so you have successfully switched classes to spy and you wanna go pick the medic. When you have decided which entrance you have decided to go through tell your teammates to not stand in the doorway so that you dont get hit with random spam.If you're wondering what you should disguise as, it should probably be scout, or maybe even sniper. Once you're behind them and its safe to uncloak, ask your team to spam the combo while you uncloak to cover up the noise and force the enemy combo to look forward. At this point you should go for the medic melee-range back click , otherwise known as the backstab. If you die well that sucks but all it does is make your kdr look bad because your team isn't really gonna be put at much of a disadvantage if you go down.
Lets be optimistic and say you stabbed the medic. Unless you know for sure that you can get another stab because the medic and pocket were super close together, start shooting kids up with your revolver so you get some damage out to help your team. The other team is probably going to focus you once you stab somebody so make sure to get as much damage out as quickly as you can.
One of the less common, but potentially game changing times to go spy is when your team wipes at mid and the other team is going to be rolling straight in to your last with an uber advantage. If you're the first person to go down at mid you might wanna go spy so you can drop the medic before they push in to last. One of the nice things about going spy when this happens is that the enemy will be focused on rushing ahead as fast as they can so that your team can't set up a good defense or get uber. If you go down its not really that big of deal because your team was kinda screwed anyway, but if you do get the pick you completely ruin their push and your team will be able to set up a better defense and get uber.
The end.

make sure to get dat amby aim up to force medics that have uber at 30 feet away from you
good guide, don't forget that revolver at close range literally 3-shots medics and has insane amounts of dps and is probably the best non-scattergun/shotgun weapon in the game
USEFUL WATCH FACT: You are invisible basically forever if you crouch walk while invisible with the Cloak and Dagger. Use this to break the shit out of turtles.

I didn't read it at all cause it was way too long, but I hope you mentioned double CnD spies that decloak at the same time and headshot the enemy medic. Foolproof plan.

I personally think spy is only good when there's a hard stalemate, and for that reason I strongly prefer cloak and dagger over default. You can scope out their entire last setup (fuck you hidden level 3's), as well as wait for the perfect time to uncloak. crouch walking will slow the decay rate on the C&D as well, albeit you'll get where you want to slower.
don't forget cloaking as other teams med to see what ubergun they're using

One time that I like to go spy is if you fail a last push and the enemy team took their second. Only if you get the forward spawn though. If they have any advantage and want to push mid, it's pretty easy to pick the med during that push. They'll generally be too focused the people in front of them or looking for a jumping soldier/scout instead of thinking about a possible spy.
And if you get behind them and they're already on mid, you can start a backcap.

Once you're behind them and its safe to uncloak, ask your team to spam the combo while you uncloak to cover up the noise and force the enemy combo to look forward.
to expand on this a little, i liked to ask my team to actually fake a push rather than just spam because that makes the enemy team start chattering in comms, which is more reliable way to coverup the cloak sound than in-game explosions or whatever
solid guide tho, pretty much covered everything

Since switching from pocket to roamer I've actually had a chance to run spy quite a bit. I used to use the regular watch all the time but lately I've been running cloak and dagger. As someone said its better against teams who are turtled on last since you can sit there and scope out everything before you strike. I also like it more in most situations now because with the regular watch you have to cloak and dart in behind the other team before your cloak runs out. This tends to cause you to attempt to run right past people where you have a good chance of getting bumped and discovered. With cloak and dagger you can carefully slip past and get into position safely.
Cloak and dagger is the way to go on really stalemate heavy maps with large open areas like snakewater and gullywash. Maps like badlands and granary where things tend to move faster, and there is also a lot more cover to hide behind, the regular watch is the better choice.

One extremely gimmicky use for Spy with the DR is to block small hallways. The example that springs into my mind is Badlands last, the hallway into upper lobby. Stick a DR spy there and no one can walk through you.
You can eat an entire kritz on a soldier and still be alive to go back and change classes.
