New iPhones announced today. TOTL one is $1500 USD. Thoughts?
rowpiecesman fuck apple
I think the more disappointing thing is the replaced last year's X with the Xr, which is a downgrade in many ways, and then discontinued the X.

Anyone that buys apple in this day and age is either A. Making more then 80k a year, or B, Just fucking retarded.
There was really nothing special about the new phones that justified paying another 1k for it. Even by trading in an iphone X you'd still pay almost $500 for a phone with a few slight technical upgrades.
iPhones stopped acting as phones and started acting as a fashion accessory long ago

what better way to fight the system than leeching off of it, further speeding up its collapse

psa apple just discontinued their oldest phone with a headphone jack (SE) so if you want a new iphone with a jack you should go in the next couple days before stock runs out
I'm fine with my newly-bought reconditionned 150ish€ phone, thanks. As a student there's no way I'd be able to purchase an iPhone. But they don't care anyway: their target is 25-50 middleclass healthy adults & their kids.
Obviously overpriced, though. I mean, what does it do that I really need, compared to that phone I just bought? Nothing.

its pretty easy for most people to save up for a new phone every couple years if you find value in having a good phone. if u dont then dont watch the press conference ad. people who are fine with $150 phones are as blessed as those with $1000 phones
also u shouldnt need more than 64gb on a phone unless you take lots of videos so really the best model is $1000 not $1500

I just started paying for my own phone bill for the first time in my life and am appalled at how much the one line with unlimited data is, that is definitely something that needs budgeting. What's surprising is the cost of my 8+ each month. I lease (rent?) the phone from Verizon but only pay them $15 a month for it and have the ability to get a new Iphone every time one comes out which I think is a really neat feature. At $15 a month and the average Iphone release being about once a year thats only 12x15 = $180 annually, which in my eyes is something I can justify at that price point. Im also in love with the glass backs, so there's that bias..
