I never thought i would see a more disappointing major than Cologne 14' or 16', at least that major had the VP vs SK match.

aside from xyp9x and glaive Astralis doesn’t have anything special, they are a purely tactical team. imo there are 2, probably more teams who have better individual talent. Liquid and Navi for sure, maybe mibr. Won’t be long before these teams deconstruct Astralis’ play style and bring this short ‘Astralis era’ to a close. This era is bad for the game. Boring, bland, and slow. Puts me to sleep.

That's where you're wrong kiddo...
They have cohesion and teamplay, the main thing that's missing from almost every other squad and made every game this tournament feel so sterile. The nuances of their playstyle are a joy to watch, but when every other team has a hard time calling rotations the results are this era of CS.
Best case scenario would be if this period of time was more akin to the VeryGames era, where you actually could enjoy their extremely tactical style of play cause they had so many counters in the form of NiP, Astana Dragons and later Fnatic...you know, teams with actual chemistry and not just copypasted SK-loose strategic T sides and non dynamic stationary CT sides.

i suppose its really hard to make an argument that the team with the best teamplay isnt the best team in a team-based esport

there's obviously better dm-based players out there compared to the astralis squad but an incoherent or underprepared roster of dmlords and puggers are never going to win anything beyond 1v1's

to be honest im surprised the NA/SA shuffle teams of liquid and mibr made it as far as semifinals given that they

1. had set up these rosters only months ago
   
2. had to teach half/partially brazilian rosters to com in english
   
3. e

lol you don’t follow the cs scene very closely do you? Astralis is the best simply because of zonic, glaive, xyp9x and a strong sports psychologist. magisk/device/dupreeh could easily be replaced with similar fraggers with little impact to core Astralis play. You can’t just throw in some old team names and expect people to take you seriously. Don’t call me kiddo, I’m probably older than you.
