we wont be resigning machado, and we didnt give up any significant prospects for any of those players and we had money to blow so there wasnt a reason not to. Freese and dozier were extremely cheap. the reliever we signed at the deadline isnt even on the post season roster and every signing besides machado was to address our abysmal offense vs lhp. we literally got machado just because we COULD and to deny everyone else from getting him. we got under lux tax, next season we will have the same core, but with some new acquisitions. most likely letting puig walk and outbidding everyone on harper.

i mean its not wrong, we can check back and see how the NL goes over the next 5 years.

you could make that point if we lost buehler, verdugo, or ruiz, we didn't though. Our farm isn't hurting either so yeah the FO can make those moves and there not even be a downside so why would they not?

TBH i feel really bad for Trevor Bauer. He was absolutely incredible in the regular season. 2.21 ERA, 221 Ks on 175 IP. Then he gets hurt, doesnt heal up fast enough to make the rotation, and has to pitch relief 3 games in a row. I felt like we saw him meltdown somewhat today, and i would much rather watch our players mash and put a guy in his place than watch him throw 3 straight balls into the dirt.
