im not sure if this is a hardware problem or some tf2 setting that i have on but my mouse is being weird
if i flick my mouse like 6 inches to the right, my character turns about 90 degrees to the right. but if i move mouse slower at the same distance my character does an almost 360.
this has been fucking with me since it makes things super inconsistent.
im using a logitech g403 prodigy gaming mouse, dpi is at 12000 and tf2 sensitivity is at .37
what should i do, is it the mouse itself, does anyone else experience this?

so if you want the same in/360 but a really low in-game sens, you would need a super high dpi
the difference is unnoticeable, though, and i have no clue how the fuck this guy even uses his desktop at 12000 dpi when i can't use it with 800dpi

idk what the video you linked is (link broken) but afaik source games use pixel rounding so you want to have a sens as close to "sensitivity 1" as possible, not as low as possible.

Negative acceleration my dude, your dpi is so high that you reach the edge of your screen in windows before the mouse can be re centered so the rest of your movements are not counted till the next frame where windows re-centers the mouse again. Just turn raw input to 1 and you should be fine, then tf2 will read movements straight from your mouse and not through windows.
also pls turn your sens down to dpi 3200, ingame 1.38, its the same but better

the windows sensitivity slider all the way to the left with 12000dpi will feel like ~750dpi on the desktop, which at 1440p and 2160p is definitely usable. That being said why anyone would want to use over 2000DPI for anything is beyond me. Even at 2160p (4k) 1600DPI is still more than enough unless you have a pretty high sensitivity (3inches or less, and honestly you probably wouldn't notice the DPI not being high enough anyway with a 0.5in/360).

Well a quote from a Senior Engineer from Logitech Francois Morier (unsure if he still works with the company) "...and then at a point you reach a level where your pixel has not enough information to give reliable tracking and then that's the reason why rising the DPI is against the logic of performance."
Generally speaking, each mouse's sensor is built with a "native" DPI ,which is the native resolution of the imager in the sensor, so lets just say 400 DPI is the native. In order to achieve 12000 DPI rather than having a big enough imager to account for more pixels, they choose to subdivide a pixel.
So rather than reading each pixel as 1 pixel, the same pixel is divided 300 times to achieve this effect of being "more sensitive" in exchange for creating more information that can cause a problem with accurate tracking, being the ratio of 800 DPI being truly 800 dots (pixels) per inch of movement. Some sensors aren't truly 1:1 one example being the Roccat Pure Owl-Eye sensor having having a true DPI sensitivty about 2% higher than whats listed on the software (800 being 816 DPI)

ok so the benefits of a high dpi is that there is more inputs from the mouse per movement of your hand into the game, in a sense this makes it more "accurate" because you can make finer movements. A benefit of this is if your mouse fucks up one input of movement it has less effect on the outcome of your aim as it is smoothed out by the increased amount of other inputs per movement.
A benefit for lower dpi is that small accidental movements, such as a movement of below 0.062 mm for 400 dpi wont be read. Technically this makes your aim more precise as your slight changes in repetitive movements is reduced.
Overall most of its bullshit, mostly recommend a sens below 2.72 due to pixel skipping, raw input on, and any dpi that u like unless you have an old mouse in which case look up native dpi, unless its ridiculous high cause source is a bitch with super high dpi's.

Native dpi on any good mouse these days is in steps of 50, hence almost every dpi that you're gonna use is native, except stupidly high ones >6400.
