So in my last thread, I was recommended to get a better processor.
I bought the 8350 and it arrived today.
I got in to the PC, all happy and stuff I started on the changing processer.
Every tutorial I saw, tells me to remove the Heatsink Fan power cable from "CPU_FAN" on the motherboard.
Much to my dismay, the first step is where I'm stuck... Quite literally speaking.
I've tried to remove it, and it won't budge. I don't want to put TOO much force in to it, but I put enough to lift the case a tiny way from the table, and it still wouldn't come out.
Any ideas why this could be?
I sent a message to seller I got it from, but who knows how long they'll take to reply?

have u tried giving it the wiggle, i had some tough cables changing my cpu and givin it the ol wiggle helped

there's sometimes a small clip on the side of the connector you cannot easily see, try to feel if there's any plastic tab on that side that you can lift away from the base (it could either be on the male or female part). Power connectors are always the worst connectors to deal with when building a PC, even if they don't have a clip. Split knuckle time!

push down on the little bump on the side and wiggle it until it gets loose.

Yeah thanks guys! I somehow didn't even notice that little bump was there.
With that and a bit of force, I successfully removed it, and installed my brand new 8350 :D
It's quite loud right now, and make a constant whirring noise, but I've been told that it's normal, especially for new processors.

If it's the stock fan-sink then you shouldn't expect it to be too great with sound anyway.

If it's the stock fan-sink then you shouldn't expect it to be too great with sound anyway.
