i accidentally spilled candle wax on my kb last night, cleaned it in the morning, plugged it in and now it doesnt work.
fuck what do i do, did i kill it for good or is there a way to save it?

u probably fucked the keys wiring and stuff so you're probably doomed but if you managed to type i assume you have a backup so thats good

wax isn't conductive or corrosive, it should be fine if you take it all apart and clean it with qtips + alcohol.
switches themselves might be sticky though

usually short extension cables are for putting the port in a more accessible location without huge amounts of loose cable being left over, or if there isn't much space around the port to let bulkier connectors work with it though
