I googled it and I would use rubbing alcohol + cotton balls, but afaik it will damage a non-glossy cover (the book isn't glossy)
I wanted to see if any of you have a solution before I try peeling it off and using water or something to get rid of the residue

not sure about books, but for cars i use goo gone and it always works perfectly. you can grab it literaly anywhere that has an auto section.

As everyone said, a hair dryer should work. Unfortunately the sticker is right on the corner so you gotta be careful not to warp the edge of the book, but the adhesive should get loose enough where you can peel it off. Be as slow and careful when you're peeling though.
