Unfortunately that thread is for ATI users, I have an integrated gpu and this is what regedit looks like for me, those directories don't exist (I'm not sure if I'm in the right one in that screenshot, but none of the 0000 folders have anything like what that quote describes). Does anyone here have an idea of what I should do (and if/how it can be reverted if i fuck it up)?

Excuse the doublepost but after 15 mins of painstaking research, I found a method that uses a program called hialgo boost.
1. Download it
2. Install it
3. Go to Program Files (x86)\HiAlgo\Plugins\BOOST, open the file called exceptions.ini
4. Edit the the MAX_ADJUST_LODBIAS line at the start to MAX_ADJUST_LODBIAS = 1.
***Hialgo apparently uses an injector and a lot of people have asked if it can get you VAC'd, but all the steam discussion threads that I read through had people that said they used it for months with no issues and absolutely no one said that they've been banned because of it. Also, the 5.0 version patch notes on the hialgo website say that it has been whitelisted by VAC. That being said, you have been warned, use it at your own risk. Feel free to do your own research, post if you find anything worth mentioning.
Also, it comes with a giant annoying overlay with a fps counter and some other crappy info, just hit shift+f10 and shift +f12 to disable both (this will give you the tf2 quit prompt, just click cancel)
Also also, if anyone knows how to get this working via regedit, please tell me because I'd rather use that than take an even 0.001% chance of getting VAC'd because of a third party injector.
EDIT: Also, the point of the program is to apparently change your resolution when you're moving your mouse around to give you a performance boost. It looks like complete aids, however, apparently this only works on dx9 and I'm running dx8 so it's off for me. If you're running tf2 in dx9, you might have to find a way to disable the actual core function of hialgo, lmao. Also, there's an annoying gray square in the top left corner for me, after some googling, lots of people apparently have this issue but I haven't found a fix.
As you can see it's far from an ideal solution, but it's better than nothing for all those #struggling gamers running intel gpus.
EDIT #2: a better way to disable the hialgo overlay is to go to
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\HiAlgo\BOOST_v5.0\C;)Program Files (x86))Steam)steamapps)common)Team Fortress 2)hl2
or whatever similar director, open settings.ini and set the logo opacity to 0 and show_fps to false.
IMPORTANT EDIT: after some playtesting and benchmarking, this actually gave me a 10% fps DECREASE as well as giving me frequent and significant framerate dips during gameplay. So only use it if you really want those textures ig
