Is it me or is it too crazy to think that Jaime and Cersei survived? I was sure the whole time while watching that Jaime was going to smuggle Cersei back to dany and jon as a big fuck you to her. Getting betrayed by Jaime and dying by the enemy would be a lot more “hateful” than just getting peacefully assassinated.
A lot of plot flaws, too many to list them.
At this point im just waiting for the next episode, finishing the show and then moving on.
One upside tho, I found the visually really good, loads of good shots, so at least not everything is to throw away

Varys allowing himself to be caught and killed is like Magnus Carlsen blundering checkmate out of nowhere. Varys had the political intelligence, the contacts and the foresight to survive in King's Landing for years despite much of the council hating him and serving Kings on opposite sides of the rebellion, and now he's acting like Ned in Season 1, honourably but pointlessly falling on his sword to oppose a bad but powerful ruler, when the realm (and all the logic of his character up to this point) would have been much better served by his being much more cunning and pragmatic in his opposition to Dany, as he has been the entire series.
The convenient storm trooper ballista aim strikes again: last episode Euron could 360 noscope a dragon 3 times in a row, now all the ballistae in King's Landing AND on the Iron Fleet can't hit shit, let alone shoot. I swear only at the start did the ballistae ever shoot (and miss) about 5-6 times.
I can forgive some inconsistencies, but they can't even be consistent in how effective anti-air ballistae are against dragons across 2 CONSECUTIVE episodes...
Also Varys' death was perhaps an even bigger joke than Littlefinger's last season. From ultra intrigue master of whisperers, manipulating everyone and knowing everything, to straight up TELLING the chief advisor of the queen that he'll kill her, AND not having a plan at all if things go wrong in any way. 10/10 spider.
Same with Tyrion: what is his way out the next episode when Dany finds out he betrayed her AGAIN?
Also Jaime and Cersei's deaths were kinda meh, so much for the prophecy about a brother killing Cersei, now a falling rock has killed both of them. 10/10 character arc closed out very nicely.

yo wtf was that? lmao
I'd fucking love it if Dany just plops down in front of everyone all chared and shit and she just slides off her dragon with a big smile on her face and goes "woah that got a bit hairy didn't it? lol"

why are you guys acting like varys was just sitting around and jacking off. hint hes a eunuch. He knew he was dead when he heard the footsteps coming for him.
The only person that was acting like ned was tyrion. He kept babbling on about his queen doing the right thing only to have :holy surprised pikachu face when she razes kings landing.

They had her talking about how she was going ot be a just and kind queen for multiple seasons only for it to vanish in an episode. Not even just killing soldiers, actually killing innocent people.

I mean that kind of shows how stupid tyrion is being right now. Someone promised to do one thing and did another? Isn't that the name of the game in westeros? Varys knew that dany's mind was already made up, too bad tyrion didn't. "we are advisors to the queen, worrying about her state of mind is our job" -tyrion s8e04. You promised so ill do anything you want since you gave me your word. It's not like you're under distress or anything, lost two of her "children", hairbraider, wannabe sugar daddy, and to top it all off her half nephew isn't about that incest life. If tyrion doesn't at least attempt to dethrone dany in the next episode, he'll just be about as useful as a center in a bball game.
There's been very few instances where Danny has done something real bad before and that was burning the Tarlys who didn't bend the knee (which is like what everyone would do a part from the burning alive part). Beyond that most of it has been just Danny wanting the Iron Throne, Danny has always said she just wants to take KL, even if there's casualties, again that's pretty much standard for anyone that tries to take a city.
I don't think Tyrion or anyone could see that some bells ringing would make Danny go physco and burn innocent people alive. Before that all she was doing was destroying the armies and battlements.
Like Varys only evidence to show that Danny is unstable is that she was sitting alone at a party and that she was sad because her dragons and friend had died.
If she stopped completely before the slaughter everything would be fine. The fact that her madness is triggered by some fucking bells is completely dumb and no one could have seen that being the tipping point.

why has arya been invincible during and since the battle of winterfell

Killing the Night King grants you +10 luck
The part that I don't get at fucking all is when Jaime says last episode that "hate never dies" or whatever so it's pretty obvious he is going down to the capital to impale his sister with a sword this time. Instead we get this shit, either show me her getting beheaded or the dragon gulping her for fucks sake even arya flying at her and doing her trickstab would be more satisfying.
And did Euron just kind of forgot about the last dragon? Thanks DB Weiss you nailed this season brother.

Reminder that dany literally crucified hundreds of ppl in essos
Also agree that the show has gone to shite but the music is still phenomenal

Why have bricks killed more main characters than the Night King?
im really split on daenerys' turn. there were always hints of her being unsound and i always thought it was unbelievable how she went from being a super quiet innocent girl to loving her rapist arranged husband to crucifying towns to burning innocents
i think they did justify it fine, but it all came during the last episode or so and was really rushed. bear in mind that she has 0 advisors she trusts, except maybe greyworm (and only in a military sense), and he hates cersei now too. she's had love and success in sandland but only distrust in what's basically a foreign land to her and her army.
i do genuinely think the actual act of burning innocents for an hour feels completely the opposite of her character at any other point in the series and i really hope she regrets it next episode
also arya has thicker plot armour than gregor's cock
Tbh I think it was less shit than the last two episodes with fewer retarded moments. At least there was some vague semblance of plot, with Dany's 'turn'.
We're just sort of waiting for it to end and find out who wins now, really, whilst mourning the death of good dialogue and interesting characters.

i really don't like the idea that dany was literally fine mentally up until this season, and even then before this ep it was just her giving angry looks

Lets be fair and objective here. Yes, hitting a dragon flying with 3 consecutive bolts is total bullshit and that death/scene was garbage but it was 2 very different situations.
Rheagal was flying into an "ambush" so he did not see the enemy, he was low to the ground, He was flying at a slow speed and lastly in a straight line. That made him pretty much the easiest target to try and hit. Still stupid to hit 3 bolts, but those are the facts.
On the other hand, Drogon was dropping from the sky like a Dive Bomber. In areal combat, "speed is life". Drogon was going insanely fast and he had his back to the sun which made him an even harder target to aim at or hit. Plus, he was going evasive and constantly moving around unlike the attack on Rheagal.

I agree that the situation was different, but why not show Euron baffled that he actually managed to hit the one in a million shot last episode, rather than hitting this extremely difficult shot 3 times, and then playing it off as being 'according to plan', before Drogon dive bombs at the ships (the same thing he did this week) before pulling away because 11 ships with ballistae are too dangerous to fly at. They set a precedent that ballistae are extremely dangerous to dragons in that episode, to then make them completely harmless the next. The 11 ships Euron had in the ambush last week also shot more bolts at the dragons than the entire fleet at king's landing (50 ships or so? Presumably equipped with ballistae) AND ballistae on every tower on the wall around king's landing. Note that all these ships and tower ballistae were on full alert and ready for Drogon to show up.
They also didn't show Dany and her crew take any account of this threat while planning the siege. A threat which was clearly significant since one of the dragons was just shot down. Their brilliant plan is to just dive bomb the dragon right at the enemy, something that was too dangerous to execute last week, and this time lo and behold, everyone missed.
This lack of consistency even within the same season is quite annoying. You either make it clear that ballistae are only effective against dragons when you hit the lucky shot and as such not that dangerous most situations, or you make them look like a real danger in both episodes. Now it just reeks of plot armour in one episode only.

you'd think tf2 players of all people would understand the difference in the difficulty of hitting an airshot on someone going in a straight line vs someone actively trying to avoid it
basically rhaegal had EU strafes...

What even was the point of the army? Apparently 1 dragon could have handled the entire conquering of King's Landing all by itself.
