So theres this mod that aims to be some sort of Time Capsule for TF2 in 2010 before mann-conomy rolled out.
It runs smooth as HECK on 300 fps maxed out and i recommend you try it out... its dead af but we can probably arrange something if we get enough players, heres a group for that, i will give you mod if you're kin on making mixes or stuff like that
Images showing unlocks available for each class (Sorry for spanish, doesnt give an option to change in propierties)
Sticky jumper and rocket jumper offer both the old skin and the new one, but their stats are the same.

I found tf2classic to be fun as well, doing some... "Interesting" things such as giving demo gunboats and medic a shotgun

CBTsadly these mods never last more than a few months

there just aren't enough players or demand, the newest flavour of the month one is played for a bit then suddenly dies

yah on this one theres gunboats for demo too
tf2 classic and tf2 2008 both closed, so this is the only "retro" TF2 mod left afaik
edit: The guys behinnd tf2classic are developing Open Fortress now (video)

Leader of the mod here, with TF2V, we are going for the 2010 feel of TF2. And after our next update we want to open up for huge community feedback, like balancing, maps and new weapons. The lack of hats and unusual effects removes a lot of the visual clutter and fps drop that TF2 has gained over the years. We hope to be open with our community and wish to bring you all great content.
