Its so strange that we in etf2l have 6 5cp maps and 1 koth map. It all started a few years back when people really wanted to play viaduct. Why dont we stick to 1 gamemode? All koth or all payload. If you look at any other game play 2 different game modes competivily. Its not like they play 1 hostage map in cs and the rest bomd/defuse missiobs

Who cares what other games do? If people are having fun or not is what matters. Also maybe they should consider having multiple game modes cause that game sucks ass.

payload doesnt really work in 6v6 because of respawn times and the moving objective, its basically a/d but easier to cap. the gameplay strength of competitive tf2 comes from it being a back and forth anyway, the playstyle is more dynamic and the pace of the game represents the skills of the teams more accurately.

it may seem unfun to only play 1.5 gamemodes but there would be a shitshow if everyone were forced to play something for noveltys sake rather than it actually being a good mode/map

I also don't think conformity is enough of a reason to remove a map some people enjoy.
