you said you want story too though, so i'd recommend the penny arcade games, cthulhu saves the world, and breath of death 7 (all three are parodies of the jrpg genre)

i've been having a ton of fun with xcom lately as well

borderlands 2, DmC, and hard reset are all really fun to play as well :V

there's also the bit.trip series, the basement collection, super meat boy, cave story+, dustforce, skyrim, hotline miami, limbo, mark of the ninja, portal 1/2, recettear, and bastion among other things

i love single-player games, so those are a few that i've spent more than 5 hours on each

Lately I've been playing some Red Faction: Guerrilla and really enjoying it. Not an incredible story but enough to give all the wanton destruction some context.

Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery was quite an interesting little game; very subdued gameplay but a good narrative and clever little puzzles.

Honestly, if you haven't tried the visual novel Katawa Shoujo, it's free and definitely worth playing.
Fantastic soundtrack too.

dark souls has been the most fun I've had in awhile when it comes to video juegos
also indigo prophecy had a really cool story up till the ending, what a trainwreck
gonna need to back up recettear too, game gets really addicting once you figure out the mechanics of the game

Get the demo for swords of the stars: the pit, I couldn't even complete that but it was so much fun

I actually downloaded that on pirate bay since it was the 2nd to top game and I someone stated their was sexual scenes in it... I haven't found it, but I am looking and eager.

It seems I played a lot of the games listed already throughout my life already :(
But as for right now I am downloading some of the listed that seemed interesting from youtube videos.

IIRC, you can go through Katawa Shoujo without seeing a sexual scene if you choose the right options...

too bad the sex scenes in katawa shoujo suck hardcore and they shouldn't have even been there. really mediocre VN

anyway with VNs I highly recommend Ever17, it actually doesn't shit itself by the ending which is rare
