Yo. I'm looking for a decent gaming/office chair and have mostly used crappy wooden dining room chairs so I'm not sure what to look for in a chair. I've been looking around on Amazon and other sites but haven't been able to find much of what I like, so I figured I'd see if anyone on TFTV has recommendations or a chair they really like or use. Ideally, I'd like to spend less than $100. I'm open to lots of ideas though!

Not happening if you want anything actually worth buying. If you want a good budget option check out a refurbished Steelcase Leap chair. I got mine on Madison Seating for around $240. Herman Miller also makes nice chairs.
If you live in a major city you might be able to find one cheaper on facebook marketplace.

Buy something expensive (within reason) that will last because of its superior build-quality and it will do better than a 100 dollar chair that you may not be able to find at this time. Good luck!

Yeah it's very unlikely you will be able to find anything new that is also reliable and not uncomfortable garbage for around $100. Your best bet is looking around user marketplaces and see if anyone is just dumping something nice because it's taking up space in someone's garage or a warehouse or was part of an office liquidation or something.

I went through like 3 sub $100 chairs that just disintegrated, spent 200 on an ikea markus and havent looked back

I use a kitchen chair i got from goodwill. It was three dollars and is horribly uncomfortable. My coccyx hurts after scrims. I do not recommend it.

ikea markus, only chair you will probably ever need. Good lower back support, mesh back, its nice and tall. Oh and its pretty cheap.
e: you can probably find a used one for less than or around a hundred bucks, new ones go for 220 or so.

bought a chair for 50 euro on wish.com, sounds sketch but the chair arrived and been using it for the last few months without issue

as a markus user I will vouch against it as the thoracic support is non existent

for me the markus would hurt my back only when i was out of shape, like not leaving the house at all. Now that I do a bit of cycling/walking/standing/more healthy lifestyle my back doesnt hurt when sat on the markus. I call that a "feature" lol
