#49 weirdest dreams in Off Topic

I used to constantly dream about bhopping irl.Not even kidding, those were one of the best dreams I ever had: my neighborhood or other place familiar to me, and I'm just jumping and gaining insane speed. Sometimes this was paired with the gravity slowly going down as I jump. Following with the feeling of freedom and a disappointment of me actually being that heavy and slow as I wake up.

#152 Ban Pred and Degu v2 in Off Topic
rongolStinson_OutOur statement:

http://etf2l.org/official-statement/
This is actually a joke. Pred and Degu represent like 60% of the people who play this game, mindless idiots who just exude malice constanrly. But, just because uberchain is more well known than your average pugger eating the brunt of these slurs, they get a ban? A decision like this sets a big fucking precedent, and if other players don't get similar punishments for similar actions, it'll be clear that major players in the community are just flexing their power to protect their friends.

just to reiterate, this isn't some fucked up backhanded shot at uberchain. i'm just upset at the way this situation was handled, because we both know admins care too little to actually ban every no name dipshit who dribbles out a slur, and despite what everyone is saying, change WON'T happen.

Changes will happen, and they are happening right now. There is no difference between prem and pub idiots, besides the consequences, as lower level and less-known individuals do not care about their reputation that much.
Yes, this is a precedent, which means that actions will be taken for the majority of issues like this in future. This is a beginning of the era when we start doing something and people realize that they can't just say whatever they want.

AlfieLess white colours please :)

as multiple people requested, here is a temporary dark version patch that can be loaded with any custom style browser extension
at this point it may look a bit ugly in some places, but it should work for most sections of the site. Night mode will definitely be added as soon as I stop updating the site on a daily basis.

edit: it's now the primary version of the site, thank me later

OlghaIs it also made for people to organize tournament with its own rules, like new formats experience cup ?

You can enforce any rules you want. This is just a tournament system that gives you a way to set your matches, teams and players up.

556pmA gallery for pictures of medals & maybe allowing for a banner graphic behind the tournament title at the top, also serving as a thumbnail on the tournaments overview would help keep different events distinct from each other imo.

This is actually exactly what we have right now. HLmixies admin decided not to put any image in there for some reason. This banner also acts as a background behind the gradient on the tournament list page.

556pmHaven't applied for organising tools or anything myself but it does look like the main option for notifying players about changes is just editing the info page & hoping people notice.

There is a system that allows hosts to send a site notification to every participant (optionally, captain) that is signed up for their tournament.
There are a lot of features that are not really visible to everyone or people may just not know about, but I'm planning to make a series of video tutorials explaining everything.

But yes, something like at least a "Steam / coverage" tab is a great idea, thanks for the feedback!

Also, we have a first tournament coming up - HLMixes Showdown - Season 1. Yea, I know that it is Highlander, but it has some keys in the prize pool and also the medals too!
More stuff coming up soon, hopefully.

DesonatorDarn thought it was gonna be a TF2 dating site

The original plan was to make a furry dating website where you match with your partner based on your tempus points, but I couldn't figure out how to work with the API.

#2 match.tf in Projects

Almost 4 months ago I got an idea of having a site to unite all the small tournaments, one-day cups and possibly LANs under one big service to save tournament hosts from the struggle of using awful third-party services or even hosting one tiny website just to run a single tiny competition.

The site is currenly in a semi-closed beta state. Which means that not everyone is given an ability to freely host a tournament just yet. Stay calm! You can still participate. Check out this link (you have to be logged in on the site) if you are interested in participating in a closed beta as a tournament host.

And yes, there are some tourneys on their way right now! Get ready and expect our first tournament going public very soon.

Tell your friends about this, invite them over to the Discord and ask your questions!

match.tf is a tournament hosting platform. Unlike third-party sites, our goal is to exclusively support Team Fortress 2 and unite all the tournaments or LANs that do not have a website, like leagues do. There is no longer need in hosting your own website just to run 1 tournament.

Why is this better than any other service?

Per every tournament created, you will get a full support, a customizable tournament page to keep your rules, info and scheduling and an easy medal distribution for a big amount of teams participating.
But the best part of it is the community. With all the tournaments kept in one place, we will have teams that can be shared across the tournaments, as well as public player profiles to track the progress of participating in various competitions.

Features include

- A customizable tournament page for every tournament
- A system to communicate and notify participants and team leaders
- Powerful match system: match comms, map-specific result submissions. Match scheduling based on team availability. Weekly scheduler. Pick/ban system.
- Weekly / manual brackets, playoff brackets system. Tiebreaking.
- Participation per approval for closed tournaments.
- Roster locks, transfers and all the other stuff you are so used to have on TF2 league websites all around the world.

Right now, we only need you - the people. Help us to grow by hosting your next tournament using match.tf.

Currently in a semi-closed beta state, click here (you have to be logged in on the site) if you would like to participate and host your next tournament using this service.

#2 Moscow LAN in LAN Discussion

And just to make things clear - this was the only day we could have the entire arena available for the entire day. Go, i63!

#1 Moscow LAN in LAN Discussion

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DiKQLpVUwAAP9c5.jpg:large

Well, it's happening. Both good and bad at the same time. Over the years Russia used to have a fairly strong but closed TF2 competitive scene. We don't usually attend international events because of how hard and expensive it is to travel to EU or United States. The first event of it's kind in ages with the previous one being Pixling LAN party back at 2012 covered by BlackoutTV.

I was not going to announce it out loud just yet, but since we got some coverage already, here it is.
And yes, the bad news are the fact that the LAN is taking place at August 26th, i63 finals. We're not expecting a lot of coverage in English, however there is a possibility of the event being covered by an English-speaking casting org.

Moscow LAN is sponsored by community enthusiasts, participants and Cyberspace Riviera - an esport arena that kindly provided us with all the equipment and a place to host the event for the entire day. The major part of the prize pool is also sponsored by m0rg, a fairly well-known semi-active prem sniper, Huge heads up to this guy.

We're hoping to bring some old farts back into the game at least for a brief period of time, so if you are interested in oldschool players fighting against 3000 elo mge players and cyka on stream - you are welcome to come and hang out on stream during iseries breaks.

Website (sadly, Russian only)
Russian stream - TBA
English stream - TBA

Starting @ 26.08 ~9:00 CEST
