lamefx2sy_morphiendI voiced my opinion because I thought it was a farce and I don't particularly give a shit what color anyone's name is around here so the inevitable onslaught of -frags for disagreeing with Sal wasn't very intimidating.
you're so brave. if only all of us could be like you, then we could stand up to the evil extv and those scummy invite players.

Are you seriously accusing this community of not being filled with dick sucking?

I had someone add me to buy my signed BRAD ROSS OFFICIAL sticky launcher named "Flank_Dominator" so they could complete their assortment of BRAD ROSS OFFICIAL weaponry.

SalamancerSo far, it doesn't seem like a majority. It seems like one person with no vested interest in the subject (June) wandering into a thread just to sperg.

Careful doggie, you can't call down the wrath of tumblr.

I have no vested interest in the documentary because I don't particularly give a shit about a big tf2 expose when I've been here for way too fucking long already. To me the story is getting the team there to begin with, the lan itself was pretty much as expected. So for those who are perhaps more in love with the game nowadays than I, sure they might be hyped to see some cool interview with Ruwin. For someone like me though, I don't care about the coverage of the lan because I remember a time where yaug got +fragged for calling ruwin a whiny bitch for crying about using his server to play bball on. Outside of that, I have perhaps lost the idolatry of invite that most new players can't seem to get out of. I voiced my opinion because I thought it was a farce and I don't particularly give a shit what color anyone's name is around here so the inevitable onslaught of -frags for disagreeing with Sal wasn't very intimidating.

You can charge whatever you want for your work, I just think you're shitty for not being more transparent about it.

Also hanbrolo, you failed to come down on sal for using the term sperg so please turn in your national-day-of-silence tumblr-warrior badge.

Renhet#168

Nobody funneled money into the project to get it done, nobody preordered a copy for a set release date. Luke just said it was done entirely in his free time. I don't know what's with the draconian judgement based around the delayed release, but it's probably not encouraging people to volunteer their time and skill.

And it's five fucking optional dollars. The Youtube version is still high quality. Like, honestly. Come on.

Alright let me clarify because I forgot I'm dealing with people that are genuinely excitable about this game.

The massive delay on the release was constantly defended by people as "he's not getting paid for this"/"it's volunteer work" and honestly, I don't particularly give a shit about him charging money for the ultimate product here.

But in case you need a fucking dictionary ground up and snorted into your skull, "volunteer" is pretty much a position that is mutually exclusive with "getting paid for the fucking job." If eXtv had said, hey guys give us some cash so luke can focus on this project, I probably would have actually applauded them for admitting that they needed assistance on this and that one guy working in his free time on a project (that evidently had loftier and loftier aspirations set for it internally while the rest of the community basically just wanted anything) of this magnitude was laughable from minute one. The joke here is that it is now a purchasable product and apparently the defense for it from Sal (who I've personally come to find adorable how jumpy and defensive he gets when anyone questions this project) is that "we never confirmed/denied that it was actually volunteer work."

and apparently dellort's words even regardless of his defense of the validity of my claim confirm that I was not the only person that was under the impression that this was a volunteer job.

dellortSalamancer#143 Perhaps you could dig up some quotes from me, Luke, or eXtine backing that up. I'd appreciate it.
Not that I have any issue with Luke charging a small cost for the full quality download, but June is correct that this was initially proposed as a "community contribution" and that Luke was volunteering his time to edit it. I'd rather you just straight up say Luke needs/wants some financial benefit for all his time instead of suggesting that you had implied there would be a cost at the start of the project. I will be buying a copy of this to support Luke however I do think June is entitled to complain about the cost which was not forewarned.

dellort agreeing with me holy shit it's one of the four horsemen

Tang_UnSalamancerSeems like stirring the pot to me, Lange. All I'm reading from him at this point is a bunch of :words: designed for flamebait. Doesn't he like getting -fragged anyway?
yes, he has stated that he eats a bowl of -frags every day for breakfast.

keeps me balanced

RenhetWhy is 1080p for free not good enough though? Everyone is getting a high quality piece of art and history for absolutely nothing. Payment for a download is optional, and the kind of support that Luke deserves for a whole year of work for zero pay.

Because this was never supposed to take a year, the fact that it did was a result of malaise and mismanagement, and that now the final product that apparently delayed the project an additional two months (which one would have assumed to have been the intended quality from the beginning because of how big i46 and the community push was for it) is now behind a paywall after all of this.

As for me being entitled, I have never really cared much about the documentary but find the farce of its production funny and the fact that there is now a price tag on the final product is really kind of a slap in the face to the community. Acting like it isn't is just being prissy.

Well it sure seems like that was the general idea given how many people threw themselves in front of you when people even breathed a word of impatience. If you genuinely don't believe the production has been grossly mismanaged regardless of the final product you're kidding yourself.

Oh good sal, it's not like this was billed as volunteer work and "for the community" for a full year.

I know this many dota watching stream monsters can't be sleeping on orange. Alliance is going to choke hard, na'vi will get farther than they should, and sylar is going to put up a GOAT performance.

I want to see orange or either LGD team to win, and I want to see mouz break top 8.

#33 Foc.us: shock your brain to improve gaming in Off Topic
gr8stalinIt is the year 2065. After buying out the Foc.us company in 2014, Apple proceeded to utilize the Foc.us headset for a variety of functions with iOS systems. Soon, Apple's true nature came to light, and before anyone knew it, Earth as we knew it became iEarth. Poor citizens were forced to attend The iChurch of Steve Jobs and pay ridiculous iTaxes or face immediate death by the shockwaves produced by the Foc.us headset that was fused to each citizen's head.

A ray of light shines in these dismal times, however. Richard Stallman, now GNU+Stallman after fusing with an array of servers to become the first cloud intelligence, has transformed the Free Software Foundation into the Free Software Liberation Force. With his rag-tag band of open-source programmers and the remains of Microsoft, it is up to GNU+Stallman and the FSLF to save the world from the iAxis of Evil!

"Excuse me, but I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as my foot in your ass is actually GNU+my foot in your ass"

Stallman the Liberator hits theaters this summer.

OblivionageSO THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS GET -FRAGGED WHEN I MENTION AUTISM. is it really that offensive? We still use retarded, raped, n-word, other insults they don't get shit about it but when you mention a specific mental illness SHIT GETS REAL

edit: we should stop derailing the thread.

There's basically a politically correct faction of tf.tv coming straight off of reddit that thinks that their feelings and plights must be constantly respected by all people in all matters (even when they are completely uninvolved). Pay no attention to how they pick and choose what to get upset about, but god damn if you're shit-talking with someone and you disrespect their pronouns then by god will you feel the wrath of tumblr.
