Gunslinger
The mini sentry builds at full health which means that in order to prevent it from damaging you it's required that you dedicate 2 shots to it at least. It also means that there is no benefit to having quick reactions and shooting the sentry immediately as it is deployed and no reason for the engineer to not just drop it immediately. Often times 3 shots are needed for scouts because of the small hitbox, which means that for just about every class that isn't demoman you are dedicating half your loaded ammo to kill the sentry. Not to mention that it heals as it builds so you /need/ to dedicate two consecutive shots to it which means that the engineer that you are now not damaging /has/ to be killed by your other two shots or you spend time reloading in front of the (now active) mini sentry.
Now for all of this, on the other end the engy has done something completely unskilled by just dropping a deployable pistol aimbot. The other ridiculous part being the completely expendable nature of the mini sentry as its 100 metal cost is immediately replenished by any killed enemy. It's damage output is still pretty great for how much range it has as well so dropping it in non-optimal positions still yields ridiculous dividends. The strength of its knockback is also too high as between its high damage output, aimbot nature, and large range it already shuts scouts down pretty hard, but it also manages to do that in a three dimensional nature.
And on top of that the engy gets +25 health.
Dead Ringer
Needs to have a shimmer after a few seconds, cripples explosive classes trying to push narrow corridors as the spy can just get up in their face and they now have an invisible wall preventing them from moving forward.
My team is gay babies and without me there to hold their hand they would surely go 0-16.
Don't worry cody, papa june is here now to make all the bad people go away
oh my god holy fuck these rankings are atrocious you can't be serious
BLoodSire#381 so scathing, it stings. Your have the wrong idea about many things and your attitude is unfortunate. I'm not going to get into a shouting match with you in this thread or any thread, but you can keep trying
I'm not trying to get into a shouting match, anybody that's been around long enough to not give a shit about your casting career is already well aware of your scout central bias. Unfortunately there's enough young, impressionable players now that they might think that you're actually even trying to be objective.
They also probably don't remember that you thought the sydney sleeper was balanced until oov shit on you with it.
Then how is your opinion on weapon balance at all relevant if you think that weapon bans should be based on the politics of "If one class has this, why don't we get this", ignoring class roles and relative strength? Personally I have never given a shit about the candy cane because getting one-shot by explosive classes has always made it fairly obvious that no scout would seriously use it, but that would be ignoring the fact that the community has for the most part adopted the notion that "If it's fucking useless then who gives a shit if we ban it?"
Your "history of the GRU and heavy in competitive play" left out the massive buffs that heavy received as well as meta-game shifts and the introduction of the equalizer and gunboats that made it possible for soldiers to even be aggressive at mids. Or have crate to crate spam wars really vanished from all memory?
BLoodSirewhile I will admit I did not know it was no longer banned, I will also admit when I made my argument it was banned...but anyhow that really has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to set the record straight with 2sy who gets all tingly trying to undermine me
Don't worry, nobody will disagree with you by virtue of your green name and that most of the community didn't spend hours reading your nerd essays on gotfrag about how soldier was the most broken class in the game. By the way, the machina was banned because it made it impossible to cover a medic at choke-points forcing medics to pop early or get bodyshot no matter what. I don't think anybody ever really gave a shit about "lowering the average dps" of sniper since that's not exactly the point of the class now is it
Blood "-1 clip size is hardly a nerf for a rocket launcher" sire now the authority on the history of weapon balance in the competitive community. This thread has finally come full circle.
wareya2sy_morphiendThat being said, it will probably be flooded with shitlords who will ban what they dislike and historically broken weapons will remain broken because captains will refuse to ban their crutch weapons for bad players.Who said anything about captains? A matchmaking system couldn't have a reasonable captain system unless you signed up with teams, which is too much.
Who is going to do the banning then? Everyone casts 5 votes and you just tally up and then ban the highest? How would that benefit the item balance at all since every class obviously wouldn't ban their own broken shit?
That and a draft phase would obviously be the best and most interesting way to go about it as you could see what items people would ban in respect to other items being banned.
The ban system is clearly valve's attempt at trying to provide some weapon balance after they gave us the second beta which they used for about a month and then completely forgot.
I don't particularly care for highlander because I feel it is an intrinsically flawed format and I doubt it will increase the 6s community size by any margin, but it's certainly not bad for us in any way. Maybe we might finally see gunslinger/jarate/mad milk actually being balanced.

mustardoverlord2sy_morphiendCondescendingCandlestickPyyyour is really the only med who could compete with shade, but alas he's moved on to greater things. Like being a black dude.
Harbl/Ruwin are the only contemporary medics in the picture other than shade. Even then it is still comfortably shade.
I know you really dont like him but pure is a better medic than ruwin nowadays
It's not that I don't like him, but he has only played medic for teams that pretty much could have had any medic in the game that knew what mouse2 did and won matches.
At this rate you (might) be able to get it done in time to show at i49

BentomatHaving started Dota 3 months ago and gradually worked my way up from shit-tier to the tier with the angry Latin Americans (whichever that is), I've got a couple tips for you:
-You don't really need people to tell you which heroes to start with. Pick one that you like and play him until you're good enough to win games, then pick another and do the same. With someone like Invoker, if you are worried about not knowing how to use him in a public game, give it a test run in a bot game.
-Use the steam community item builds and read the explanations on the items and skills. This will make you seem like you know which items to pick even when you don't. Browse through the guides when you're looking for new heroes so that you start to understand the overall theme of the items.
I'll join the TF2 stack sometime.
Don't auto-pick a hero just because "that's you're main" or some shit, and don't commit the cardinal sin of randoming at a 4th/5th pick even if the 3 brazilians on your team slammed their heads into void/am/pub-breaker.
alexwut or reptile are the only acceptable answers
Hawks are going all the way there
drmtcit is sad that tf2 has so many limits on its physics engine. it is the main reason why i still am concerned with tf2 becoming a real mlg sport -- lack of advance movement techniques.
carrots why do you still post here serious question
