If the map is less DM-heavy and more focused on strats, then it has a higher chance of upset.
Randomness will lead to a map that has a higher chance of upset, yes. However, just because a map has a higher chance of upset, it isn't necessarily based on randomness.
There's no point arguing this when it seems to be commonly accepted among players that have been around for 4+ seasons now that there is one strat on gpit and the only thing that changes is if whatever your "get the med" strat is works.

There are a few situational one's on some maps, however one thing I like to do as pocket is equalize up farther than standard and fire a few rockets at entrance ways and then reload while holding back a little bit and waiting for 300. You should be really entering mid around the same time and an early 48 on the demo or one of the scouts can make mid a lot easier.

Just because a map seemingly gives "lower" teams a chance to upset better teams doesn't mean it is fundamentally flawed. There are a lot of "good" arguments against Gpit, but this is not one of them.
Basketball is played on one map.
