in eu we're talking about people coding bots to flood casual and make it unplayable, I imagine it's not even that much of a time waster for them once the bots are functional. Idk if they feel important knowing valve won't stop them so they can effectively grief thousands of people at the same time, or if they developed a hate for the game and want to run it to the ground.

Either way I'm pretty convinced this is a bigger threat to the future of tf2 than anything that happens in the comp community. Pubs are the heart of the game.

for me this works:

run windows update, install anything overdue, restart PC, run the steamservice.exe repair, restart again if needed

basically I have anything steam as an exception in windows defender but it seems every time windows defender gets updated I need to do this little routine

key word to me here is 'casual'. If I want to tryhard I go comp, but tf2 pubs are just fine with a relaxed attitude. If I had to sweat on every pub I'd play a lot less.

idk how it is in NA but in EU there was at most one or two teams that put any effort in 7s so the quality of play was pretty low. I was in a couple bottom invite teams and we just showed up to officials to fuck around. Nothing of value is really lost

meh. tf2 doesn't really need updates.

most weapons are balanced and those who aren't can be whitelisted away
adding new items is a can of worms in terms of balance, especially if they went with a heavy update when his balance is good already
casual will never be as good as old pubs but it's at least playable
valve 6s is a dud and pointless to work on
sticky det bug and other little glitches won't break the game on their own, sure fixing it would be nice but eh

idk. I'm not surprised valve has little interest in putting man hours in tf2, they have better projects to work on. it's nothing short of a miracle that a game this old still has so many players but if anything that is more of a reason, in their point of view, to not invest much on something that isn't really that broken
