Serious and unbiased opinion though, they're nice people apart from things like this. And they're good. They'll go far. I do recommend playing for them.

-1 is default/automatic. Should be the same as 2 in your case. 0 or 1 are both single threaded settings IIRC. You'll lose fps probably, but there was a point when TF2 would be more stable with them. I don't know if that's still the case, and it's probably not what's causing your crashing, but it might be worth a shot.
That could be a behavioural thing, which wouldn't be a big deal at all, but cats panting can also be a really really bad sign. I'd take it to the vet if that were my cat just to make sure.
It's a longshot, but have you messed with mat_queue_mode? I know multithreading can cause crashing in source sometimes. Try turning it off.

Damn. You introduced me to The Bird and the Bee and a couple other really good artists with those videos.
I'm impressed that he recognizes the problems with his behaviour, and I'm confident he can turn it around, given time. That said, he was a backup for my team at the beginning of the season, and I have to strongly recommend against playing with him if you don't have much of a tolerance for toxicity. While I do believe he can become the sort of person he wants to be, I don't think that change will ever come overnight. And he really is one of the biggest assholes I've ever met in the community.
And Mecha, GL changing your attitude. I know you can do it.
