The map makers actually get more prize money than the players. After the cup all the team captain will rank the maps from best to worst, and the winning map will receive a 130€ first prize, so they're well taken care of!
I believe the final will be streamed tonight on essential's twitch channel
Hello everyone and thank you all for another great LAN!
Submit your good frags with ticks to this thread, and I'll do something with them. Whether I make a proper LAN frag video or just use some frags for TFTV highlights remain to be seen, it all depends on how many frags I receive and how good they are.
First off you have to organize everything: Find out who's playing on which teams, add them and their steamid if they're not already in the system, decide on the prices for everyone and figure out how much money to make available for players.
Then after you've set everything up it's pretty much just uploading logs from every match with a description and a timestamp to keep everything organized
Yet another ETF2L season brings us yet another highlight video. This time around it's really long!

I could have waited longer and used slightly high quality clips, but then I wouldn't be able to complete it before Copenhagen games, so I decided to go ahead and finish it now. Whether or not there will be a playoffs video is still up in the air.
Thank you to everyone who submitted your clips, including those that I ended up not using. You're the best!

We're trying to. Information on the teams attending is currently quite spotty, and they way the tournament is set up is really bad for determining which teams to include. Preferably there will be around eight teams worth following, but currently there's only around five, and then we have to predict who will do well from the remaining teams, and I'm not that knowledgeable about the American scene.
GentlemanJon has done all of the necessary setup and we've brought in an American admin to upload results as they happen, so we just need me to set prices for all the players and enter them into the system
I've made another video! This time starring the versatile Frenchman dmoule:
A few things:
Sniping from the forward spawns is currently too powerful IMO. It's especially bad on the 2nd point where the sniper can basically see everything from inside of the spawn.

This lantern is super obnoxious since it restricts your movement:

This flank is pretty boring. Adding some high ground advantages and breaking up vision would go a long way towards making it an area that could see action that isn't just through-traffic. Cave is looking pretty good IMO.

These shelves with boxes should be closed off since you can't use them

I still don't know if I like this flat, open area out to the side. It does provide some space for a team attacking 2nd to maneuver, but it's just so flat and boring and is flanked by a death-pit, so it just feels a little off to me.

I'm really enjoying the map so far. keep up the good work!

This still works, I just tried it out and it took me about 10 seconds to combine the logs

This is sick. I'll definitely be using this for gc situations from now on.
Alright, so the question of whether or not to include the golden caps is something I've always wrestled with, since there are obvious pros and cons to both options.
I've chosen to include golden caps this season (and for the last many fantasy league competitions) because I really dislike omitting data. Golden caps are part of the game, and arguably they are the most important part of a game, so simply ignoring everything that takes place during this part of the game just feels wrong to me.
Winning the game also also gives you points (+5 points to win a gc) and is generally a pretty big deal when it comes to scoring points. Shouldn't the winning team be rewarded with extra points? I think they should.
On the other hand, golden caps allows players to earn a disproportionate large amount of points for a relatively short amount of game time. It's really easy to get inflated DPM and K/D ratios which can result in someone (like clip) getting a massive amount of points "for cheap", while most other players will have low scores.
Including golden caps also messes with the PPG stats, which bothers me way more than it probably should.
The obvious solution to this problem would be to combine the GC log with the main log and then upload that to the system, but unless you can tell me an easy way to combine logs, I'm simply too lazy to manually sit and combine logs for such a minor gain.
