#198 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread (last updated Sep. 9, 2013) in Hardware

@Mankut
the corepad deskpad xxxxl has always served me very well.
it tracks like a pro. i've never had any issues, with 6 different mice.
of course the anti-slip rubber works fine as well.
after more than a year, mine only has some (very, very) light wearing on the edge where my right arm meets the pad.
the wear would probably not even be there if the pad wasn't so close to the edge of my table.

i've started using hard pad some time ago, but i still have the corepad lying on my desk, simply for comfort :>
it doesn't get cold (unlike my glass table), and of course the material is nicely soft.
as a bonus, it serves as a mild sound-absorber for when you type ;p
here's a pic that shows how large it is: le bureau.
i suppose it might be too large, but i figured i might as well share my experience.

PS: kut means vagina (cunt) in Dutch. Mancunt.

#17 Viewmodel show/hide script in Q/A Help

it could be that your binds are getting overwritten,
it could be that your viewmodel_fov is set to such a low value, that r_drawviewmodel 1 will still not show a model.
there's nothing else i can think of right now..

if you're sure that your binds aren't getting overwritten,
you could try a script like the one 'nope' posted.

#11 Viewmodel show/hide script in Q/A Help

those " things don't matter at all. at least, not for singular.

you can just do: bind 1 slot1
and it will work just fine.
you will only need a " if you make a string of multiple vars
like: bind 1 "slot1; r_drawviewmodel 0
same goes for aliasing.

for example, i have:
bind mouse1 +att1
and it works flawlessly.

Zetsu*dat bump doe* tried this, aint workin

well, there's nothing wrong with that script.
you have something else that's blocking it from working properly.

Blackdott" I was getting yellow-flashing lerp (means that extrapolation absolutely Happened that frame) "
Is orange just "normal"?

just use a lerp of 15.2 if you have a good connection.
don't look at the color of your lerp in net_graph.

DigresserI don't think that link can be tampered with, nor do I think the event keeps any profit from it.

It's the other Paypal account which goes directly to Flares that Care which needs to be scrutinized.

Also, he's removed the remaining unsold items from the Steam Market. Maybe he'll surprise us and return them to the people who donated them. It would help remove some of the bitter taste this event has left in our mouths.

i realise the link can't be tempered with.
i edited the post: "and don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it won't benefit child's play. i'm just wondering if snozen (and whoever else) is getting something out of it if people donate to child's play through their exclusive link."

i'm not saying that i'm convinced that the above is what's going on (i don't even know if this would be possible at all),
his behavior has just made me wonder.
the only other reason i can think of right now, why he'd still put something of an effort into getting donations, is to not look pathetic towards Child's Play.

@Crayboff
i realise that that might be why the link is there.
but why i'm wondering is because he's putting in effort.
i don't believe he truly cares, he is doing it for his own good.
so i'm wondering if he's just trying to pull donations in for his wallet or for his credibility/image.

anyone else wonder if they might get to keep a percentage of the donations that went through Flares that Care..?

donating via their 'primary donation page' actually donates to "Flares that Care 2 benefiting Child's Play Charity".
because, even though the event seems to be cancelled, he keeps spamming that donation link.
while an actually direct donation would go to "Child's Play Charity" (which would also be a different link).

i'm just wondering why he would still be so concerned about donations going through flares that care, rather than actually directly..

edit, the difference:
https://donate.childsplaycharity.org/ ("Child's Play")
https://donate.childsplaycharity.org/0db6a8ab44425094824538ec7126aa7f ("Flares that Care 2 benefiting Child's Play Charity")

and don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it won't benefit child's play. i'm just wondering if snozen (and whoever else) is getting something out of it if people donate to child's play through their exclusive link.

i see him blaming this thread for the fact that he kept the items.
he says that he kept and sold the items because of how he was treated in this thread.

xoPwnuHonestly Plotchy isn't that bad of a guy. He's just a scammer.
Hitler was an alright dude, he just killed millions of people

but people just saw the bad!
he was actually really sweet. his dog loved him, so there's proof!
if only you really knew him..
poor hitler, always misjudged.

tordanaOwner of ReSurfed here (I was providing my server for the surfing section of the event).

I think it's really a shame that, regardless of the trustworthiness of Snoven, the TF2 community managed to witch hunt hard enough to freak out the kid and force a cancellation of the event. The point of this was not to inflate anybody's ego, it was to raise money for a good cause and help out some kids in need. I personally just sent in $25 directly via childsplaycharity.org and I encourage others to do the same.

With that said, clearly ReSurfed will *not* be closing tomorrow as originally planned. However, I want to reiterate that I am happy to make the server available to anybody running similar events to this, whether that be ToTH or somebody else. There's plenty of room for good deeds beyond the yearly ToTH, and I hope this incident doesn't force others considering planning things to stop. Everybody has skeletons in their closet, part of life is moving on. I got VAC banned and laughed out of the competitive community 6 years ago as a stupid kid, but stuck around with the game and ended up running a server network bigger than I ever imagined it would be.

just read what wrecheddddd posted, and think again.
i don't know why you and your fellow admin are being so soft/ignorant, but your "neutrality" just makes us look like skeptical bastards who wrongfully 'attacked' someone who wanted to better his life and be generous to the unfortunate.
but, clearly, this guy is abusing the generosity of alot of people, for his own personal greed.

you really, still, think that he had even planned to go through with the event..? and even if so, then it certainly wasn't his priority.
and if you think that it was us who killed this event by 'attacking' snoven, then it was you too. because we trusted this event, including him, and you did the same.
and even if he had not cancelled; would viewers really enjoy a host who has cheated them out of their items?
it's not like we're talking about a few scrap, here. the value is significant.

julesdoingworkDon't blame your bad behavior on social anxiety. You're just looking for an excuse not to examine yourself.

it's just the playing-the-victim strat,
he knows what he's doing.

snoven has officially cancelled: FTC Cancelled, Snoven leaving steam
he has also taken down the schedule that was on the site of Flares that Care.

anyway: as much as i am disgusted by what has been going on behind the scenes, i do sincerely hope that this could still be realised:
countless of hours have already been put into this. (and let's not forget what this was for. right?)
unless more people were involved in this crap.

but is it still doable? can it be postponed?

like i predicted, snoven will just be leaving with his stolen items..
at this point, i doubt i'd even be surprised if he's taken a part of the donations that have gone to "Flares that Care", via that yellow donate button on the website.

anyway: if anyone still trusts you, snoven, they are out of their minds.
you're pathetic, and full of shit.

hate to be that guy, but i sincerely hope that everyone and anyone who has donated (with time or with gift) has learned from this.
before donating, just double-check everything. these kind of scams have happened on a much larger scale.
if possible; always ignore the middle man, and donate as direct as you can.

it's straight-up heartbreaking to read that the good intentions of alot people, and the name and sake of charity, are being used to do something like this. it's absolutely disgusting.

thank you for sharing your findings on this whole situation, OP (and the others).

edit: after reading the link Mio posted: i sincerely doubt that he will actually give all of the items away. it's hard to trace all donated items. i think that, at most, he would give only a portion away.
would be happy to get proven wrong, of course.
