#185 The Mouse/Mousepad Thread (last updated Sep. 9, 2013) in Hardware
AntaresHas anyone else here that has a G400s experienced issues with the sensor ? Specifically the tracking spazzing out sometimes when trying to do a fast flick motion like a rocket jump.

the G400S i had was functioning just fine.

what surface (mouse mat/pad) are you using? some sensors and surfaces don't go well together.
what DPI and hertz settings are you using?
have you turned acceleration off in your OS and in your game?
are you using the logitech software/drivers?

#19 Large Lag Spikes in Q/A Help
DemonousNightAlright I did that, though I put .cfg the file type didnt change from Text Document

click on start, then in that small screen, type "folder options". this should make it pop up in the list. click on it.
go to the View tab, and look for "Hide extensions for known file types" in that list. make sure it is unchecked. now click ok.
i believe this should fix it, and now you should be able to rename the file to autoexec.cfg (it's probably called autoexec.cfg.txt right now)

#17 Large Lag Spikes in Q/A Help

navigate to: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\cfg\cfg\
(it's unlikely you have \cfg\cfg\, so you'll have to create those 2 folders yourself)
in there, create a text file, and call it autoexec.cfg (it will probably ask if you want to change the extension, just click yes).
in there, put this:

cl_interp_all 0
cl_cmdrate 67
cl_interp 0
cl_interp_ratio 1
cl_lagcompensation 1
cl_pred_optimize 2
cl_smooth 0
cl_smoothtime .01
cl_updaterate 67
rate 60000

don't get your hopes, though. because i don't think that these commands will fix your ping-fluctuations..
but they should be a benefit, nonetheless.

#15 Large Lag Spikes in Q/A Help

there's the Latency drop-down selector. try the <50 latency option to see how many servers shows up. if very few servers pop up, then just increase the latency until enough servers show up.

i also suggest making an autoexec.cfg with some net settings. your connection allows better cmdrate rate / update rate / lerp than you currently have. this won't fix lag spikes, but will still strengthen the connection you have with the server.

and, as desza mentioned, wireless can cause issues. these issues can become worse the further away you are from the source and what's between you and the source.

wired or wireless internet?
and, going from the picture: what was your ping before it shot up to 280?

#7 I got VAC banned and it was a mistake in Q/A Help
CuddlyKittenI know a lot of people hate reddit, but: http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2cm34j/yes_false_vac_bans_do_happen_my_ban_was_lifted/

Hope it helps, and good luck. Valve does not lift bans very often.
Nigerianpoopslayerinb4 all cheaters refer to this thread and be like "I got a false ban bla bla bla"

hah. just kidding, though. if your ban was a false one then i hope it works out for you dude.

#5 Mouse DPI? in Q/A Help

the issue is probably that it's a crap mouse.

but i presume you want more DPI on your desktop, so:
you could try logitech's own software (logitech setpoint or something),
but there's a chance your mouse only has one DPI option.
so, otherwise, the windows pointer speed slider is an option (control panel -> mouse -> pointer options).

and if you can be bothered, consider making a picture, maybe someone recognises it.
but you'd be best off getting a new mouse, as mentioned. (a wired one!)

#91 TF2 update for 1/27/15 in TF2 General Discussion
marqueeemkayHas anyone tried putting -autoconfig in their launch options and seeing what happens?
teamfortress.tv/post/390729/tf2-update-for-1-27-15#35

i have twice now and i'm still getting the same shit.

removing surface properties might have done the trick though as i played 20 mins of mge without my game shitting the bed. not holding my breath though.

same here. -autoconfig etc does not change a thing.
as for surfaceproperties:

TwistedJust tried removing everything custom but my actual config.

No custom hud, no surfaceprops.txt, no vpks, nothing workshop-ish.

Just pure tf2 in dx8 with a custom cfg.

Issue remains and frequently returns.
