yup, that should work fine.
when i measure the cpi with that software, i just put a small piece of tape on the back of my mouse, vertically. then i just slide my mouse 10cm across a ruler using that tape as start and finish, giving me a very precise measurement.

they refer to the same thing, but cpi is the correct term. (Counts Per Inch - sensors send X and Y counts.)
Dots is basically wrong, for example you might move 2 dots(pixels) for every count your mouse sends if your windows is set up like that.
anyway sorry, i had no clue you had to be registered.
i uploaded it to tinyupload here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=24005262032705726246
the cpi might not be the same, it could be that simple.
setting your mouse to 800cpi does not necessarily mean it's tracking at exactly 800cpi - that's just the advertised step.
there are even mice with steps that are 100+cpi off from the advertised step. this is also true for newer mice and sensors.
this is also the case with the same mouse. for example it is known that most MLT04 mice like the WMO have a cpi of between ~420 and ~450, even though it's always been advertised as 400.
anyway, you can use MouseTester to measure the cpi of your mouse. you might be a few cpi off because of human error, but other than that it's accurate:

also, did you use LGS to set the cpi of the mice? this does not always work well with older mice.
edit: it looks like their only cpi step is 800, so i guess not. :-)
hoolihow much of that goes to his wife?

stabbyI'll go ahead and bow out for real now...I made a tweet about a half-baked musing I had while baked off my ass at 4am...I wish the response were more of a conversation and a little more civil, but frankly guys it didn't merit a thread.
how can you have a (civil) conversation with someone who ignores all the good points that were made against his "arguments"?
besides, you might've made that tweet when you were stoned and maybe tired, but were you also stoned and tired all the time you were defending it here?
anyway, i think saying there has been too little experimentation says how much you know about 6s
temporary workaround for zoom_ratio is to change your sens when you click M2. then just revert your sens back to whatever you normally use when you click M2 again, click M1, switching weapons or switching classes.
it's a bit of work, but it's possible if you really want it.
the way you grip decides more than your hand size.. i have ~18,5cm hands but i barely palm the G400 and the Deathadder. a bit of my palm does touch the mice, but it's more of a fingertip-hold that i have going on.
as for the FK1, it's in no way palmable for me. i pure-fingertip this one.
YMMV since everyone grips mice differently.
what mice have you used in the past that were comfortable to you?
or if it must be one of the mice mentioned in OP, take the G400.
JDawgif I should rule Carpal Tunnel as a possibility or not.
of course you should. carpal tunnel can get bad.
it would be silly to rule it out with the symptoms you're currently experiencing.
visit a doctor or/and physiotherapist. optionally (temporarily) stop playing games/tennis.
do exercises, not so much to strengthen your muscles, but to keep things lose and lower strain. (stretch, stretch, stretch!)
definitely don't ignore the symptoms - you don't want to wake up in 5 years knowing you're messed up your wrists for life just because you didn't want to stop playing games.
