Pyro can't handle my yomi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZVoaOkV2IQ
Rockkkkkkk(A quick comment on Pyro - the problem is that he has a bunch of very stupid weapons and what Valve really needs to do is to tweak gameplay mechanics - fire damage, movement speed, etc. They've tried to "fix" pyro with unbalanced weapons)
Honestly it was just the worst designed class in the game from the get-go. It's still relegated to utility duty right now, but there are people who have issues with that.
I think it's fine like that. Even ignoring that TF2 wasn't designed to be competitive from the start (Valve did acknowledge it once in like 2009/2010), it's still fun in pubs to run Phlog on poorly designed maps or do Backburner glitching behind Steel A.
I agree on the weapons part, though I think messing with the base things may just make pyro more of an annoyance, if for no other reason then because people would need to relearn things again.
Well, possible pros:
- the story might by chance be worthwhile
- you can play it on the train or bus
Well, at least now we can have Genuine Tyrant Helms.
Buy $20 desk fan from Amazon, put on pair of ski goggles for the wind in eyes. Works plenty fine for me.
That is, whenever I don't have AC.
athermalPersonally, I'd like to see a viable competitive map made with either trains or water as an integral dynamic of the map.
profixIt has to allow for some awesome jumps like the rollouts on process for demo/roamer. I LOVE SLIDES. :D
Put in some water jumps.
Well is trashy but I miss that part, esp now with gunboats.
PhiGenerally, 5CP is the gamemode to go for, as A/D CP and KOTH aren't really prime places for testing - from experience, A/D doesn't get tested barely at all b/c people don't like to scrim those maps, and KOTH is generally either a love/hate relationship for each map. 5CP offers better testing because feedback will be different for each point, and testing will probably be better.
I think KOTH is like that because all we've had really is Viaduct. I don't find it fun (weird mid, everyone fighting in only one area), but snipers love it cause they never have to bother playing scout.
We need AD other than gravelpit.
Vertical design in mind, consideration of scout doublejump distance and height advantage
Options for pushing, more than 1 opening but not more than 3
Some gay hiding spots for roamer
Mix of open and indoor areas
Good placement of med/ammo, readily available but with some vulnerability in position
Design with some sniper options in mind
Bonus: hard for heavy to get around (heuhehueh)
Also whats up with the comma
cl_first_person_uses_world_model
Does this do what I think it does.
(getting accurate flame representation on your screen)
First question, I do have a 75hz monitor, but it's 1280x1024 so I know I'm seeing less, is it worth it giving it a shot? Also, how do I transfer TF2 from my main monitor (1366x768) to that if I'm using borderless? Is it (and 120hzs too I suppose) as useful for soldier and demoman?
Side question, I never actually learned this, but what's the shortcut for removing that thing where when you're typing and it deletes & replaces characters that are ahead? god how do i english
Process can definitely stay.
Metalworks I haven't played much so idk about that.
Viaduct isn't that great imo.
Yukon could maybe make a comeback, now that there's no Natascha and a 1 heavy limit.

In all seriousness though, I feel he's not so bad in 6's because of a few things. High mobility of the standard classes, better teamwork, and people generally know how to deal with him which is I guess something of a hurdle for people new to the game (getting close, getting buffs to weird health counts that can't be 2x100'd, watching for traps etc) Still the strongest class, but you have to be good because people will bomb/+forward you.
I love trains. Shame they're so inefficient for people-moving.
Download some indie games on your laptop.
Lamp posts, signs, and other decorative things that don't actually have collision and that you can't stand on.
Also the camera on the left of Gravelpit Red's spawn used to bug me when I was trying to get up to C with one rocket.
