My thoughts on Dane and Star:
Dane:
That was a harsh jab at star for no real apparent reason. Yea Star did leave a lot of his fan base left out to dry, But he had been around a lot longer and has made WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more tf2 content and a variety of it over uncle dane. Star ultimately just really wants to move on and shit like this just still annoys him cause i'm sure he doesn't want to be relevant to the game anymore (really hard to do though since he was and arguably still the most famous tf2 youtuber)
Yes Star did popularize the mini sentry hate, but it was a different weapon waaay back then and many people still don't like the weapon regardless of star's opinion or not.
Dane did a jab that was unnecessary and wasn't exactly right with his statement.
Ster:
I feel ster handled the situation very shitty, instead of going with the, "I really don't care about this game, please stop bringing me up" He decided to shit talk on a youtuber's current popularity which is immature cause I could name better youtubers IMO better than ster with waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less subs and views than he has.
As in terms of his departure, I feel ster really was shitty in how he left the tf2 community, it was silent, rude, and so sudden.
Yes do what you want with your career but DON'T just fucking leave the people that made you popular cast to the side so harshly.
His tf2 career got him to where he is today, doesn't have to suck up, or be thankful, but left the people know you are done formally. it's easy, a simple 5 minute video would do, but no he just gave his channel the cold shoulder (this is more a jab on him leaving his channel so suddenly rather than tf2)
Also i don't understand how someone can be so spriteful toward a community that loved his (i can see him hate the game and i understand how you get pissed when being told to play a game that you don't care anymore) but it seems he hates everything tf2.
He didn't even show up to TOTH 2016 which seemed like a massive fuck you to the community. (He does say that is was a "hard decision" but goes on to say it's tf2.... i don't care)
But TOTH isn't about tf2, it's a fundraiser where the community gets together for a short time for one step camp. just seems hard to justify not going to something many of his friends are doing for a cause. AND again he was silent about this to the tf2 community, I had to look on his OW stream to find out the news. This tbh is my biggest gripe on ster.
EDIT: none of this would have happen is valve cared more :(
