Any idea how long it's gonna stay free? Also can you host dedicated servers or can you only use theirs?

#8 rocket league hoops in Other Games
KonceptLegacyShpeeismeRocket league is actually such a sick game. It would be really funny if this became a big esportI know it made an appearance at am MLG event some time ago. Haven't seen much else related to rocket league at an international competition though

https://www.rocketleagueesports.com/

From FAQ:

the top four point earning teams from each region will be invited to travel to compete at the Live International Finals event.

Why can't TF2 have this? :'(

#1 Kerbal Space Program 1.1 in Other Games

A couple of days ago a big update hit KSP. The majority of the changes were just related to the upgraded Unity engine, along with other optimisations.

They also added a bunch of features into the game to help people pick it up more easily without having to tab-out to youtube every 2 minutes. If you haven't played it, it's 40% off right now RIP it just ended :'( There's a great demo though.

For those who've already got it, what did you think of the update? Made anything crazy with the new engine?

#3 Can't connect to mumble servers in Q/A Help

If that doesn't work, someone had the same problem as you here, and some solutions were posted. Was a while ago, but might still be relevant.

#4 python coding in Off Topic

idk about a better editor than just notepad++/sublime text or IDLE, but if you wanna make games you might want to look into PyGame. Never used it myself as I don't use Python for GUI applications, but I reckon it'd be a good place to start.

#3 PC Build in Hardware

There is no PC in existence that you could say for sure will perform the same for the next 5 years. This build looks like it could run TF2 on high settings at the moment, but who knows with all the updates/restrictions Valve is pushing.

As for buying 8GB more of RAM, I don't really see the need if you're just gonna be gaming. I'd buy a nice SSD instead.

EDIT: Post here next time.

#87 TF2Center DDosed in TF2 General Discussion
frenzyxtf2c is run by a bunch of kids, that over protect their precious website(which isn't even that good). Honestly ive had more fun in pugs then i have in any tf2 center lobby. tfc just needs to review theirs mods again for the immature kids, and have people become mod that know how to actually mod.

I think for the traffic tf2c receives, it performs pretty well. It's reliable and seamless in most areas.

However, I completely agree that the administration has lost its way, and consequently damaged it's reputation. I think perhaps a shakeup, or at least some fresh staff would be a good start to improving it.

I love how TF2Stadium functions and looks, but I honestly don't see a need for it, beyond the cancer admins at tf2c.

#83 TF2Center DDosed in TF2 General Discussion
-SalninjaMooCowsaamcenter honestly needs to ban every single one of their mods/admins from ever trying to communicate with anyone everYou are a neckbearded retarded dick. Address people, not groups that you generalize about.
This is incredibly ironic, due to the fact that it is coming from someone who plays in alltalk pub communityknown as FITH which stands for (Fucked In The Head ((lol)) ) filled with 90% of them just randomly talking about the dumbest shit that doesnt make sense.

Also here is a fun fact: I have digged in a bit of research and realized that your community has played several season of hl ugc in like steel or silver lmao which I find it pretty funny.

Worst case scenario is that you leave TF2Center and beg to KevinIsPwn for admin in stadium, like the little bitch you are.

P.S: Please say hi to the downie of Ryan McDaniel, he probably misses me alot lol :)

It's a shame Sal's weekly forum post was used up on this topic.

#1 Ultiduo Finals Live now in Videos

Watch Skins for the Win vs Kaptain Baloo sponsored by TF2Pickup.net battle for the top prize of 18 keys.

Unfortunately TheSpire couldn't cast due to technical difficulties, so the only way to watch is via STV:

connect rhein.fakkelbrigade.eu:27100; password tv

Maps are: Baloo>r_b7>bunkalow.

Kaptain Baloo sponsored by TF2Pickup.net is currently 1 round up in the first map, but it is a close game so far!

#2 Steam crashes every 5 minutes on linux mint in Q/A Help

Afaik steam on Linux isn't too stable, there's often updates a few days later fixing certain bugs. Best thing to do is report it here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues

#7 Steaming Quality in Hardware
DavidTheWinThe SSD doesn't matter. You could probably get a decent 720p 60fps 3k bitrate stream out of that but you might see some performance issues on an i5 4570. To alleviate them you could go with an i7 with hyperthreading or you could try quicksync or nvenc which use the integrated GPU on your CPU (for quicksync) or the h264 encoder on your 970 (for nvenc) to encode the video rather than using your CPU. This greatly reduces the CPU load so your performance would be better but the resulting video has a tendency to be a bit blockier during moving scenes which isn't ideal for FPS games. For reference I run the tftv stream off a 4790k at 4.4ghz at 1080p downscaled to 720p, 60fps, 4k bitrate using regular h264 encoding. The reason I can do that is because I only need to run the game at 60fps and I only interact with it using spectator binds not a mouse. If you need to play you want 120fps and a responsive mouse which you won't get by streaming at too high a quality. Our other EU streamers who use i5s use either quicksync or nvenc because we'd rather a slightly blockier 60fps stream over a laggy stream.

Thanks for this, I appreciate it.
