#6 yet another headphone thread in Hardware
moleDave_dt880s are good. I've had mine for a couple years now. They're a lot better sound wise than the dt770s.
I tried them for 2 hours or so at a local store, and I found them to have too much sibilance, almost hurt. Also saying "sound wise" doesn't really say much, you need to be more specific, what was better?

Found a guy on a forum saying "I really enjoy my dt770. On the other hand I really hated dt880" (http://www.head-fi.org/t/723025/philips-fidelio-x2/3930#post_11378390), so it's definitely not as simple as you made it seem.

They have a better frequency response + soundstage. If they're too sibilant just get the 600ohms; they are less sibilant than the 250 and 32ohm. If you're looking for something that's more neutral, the dt880 is a better headphone. If neutral isn't what you want/the sibilance bothers you, get the 600ohm or just use a diff amp idk. I don't have that issue with my current amp/dac.

If you're seriously considering them/on the fence between them, read this, specifically post 2: http://www.head-fi.org/t/258751/dt770-vs-dt880

#5 Windows 10/Motherboard Audio Issue in Hardware
Waldo#2: Tried booting Ubuntu from a flash drive, still no audio. I guess that means it's either BIOS or hardware.

#3: Yes and yes.

Edit: I should also mention that, on plugging in headphones or turning the computer on/off, it makes the popping sound that I would expect if it was working.

idk I'd just RMA it while you can. Ask for an advance replacement (they send you the new one and then you send in the old one) so you can minimize your time without a mobo

Try an ubuntu disc and see if you get audio output? Seems weird though.

#9 zowie fk fricking up in Q/A Help

Try cleaning the sensor out with compressed air. My fk2014 was hitting the malfunction speed really easily because there was dust in the sensor.

#11 CS:GO: Upgrade CPU or GPU? in Hardware

Why not just overclock it? I got some pretty large gains overclocking my 3630qm on my laptop and my 920 on my desktop, both of which are locked chips. Plus your temperatures seem pretty low, so I don't see the issue here. If you need more cooling, a better CPU cooler is relatively inexpensive compared to a new CPU and can fit multiple sockets as well.

#23 165hz Asus monitor in Hardware
KrocketKarmaBeen curious for a long time why manufacturers stuck to 144hz. Weird number to pick when they could probably go up if they wanted to. I'd like to see some try to get even higher. Idgaf about color or res.

1080p, TN, 1ms GTG, 240hz sounds better than 4ms 165hz even if we're getting into really tiny differences.

im just waiting for 420hz
