I really hope Overwatch and Quake Champions succeed in the competitive front so Valve see that and step up.

I dream that, one day, this will make Valve re-release TF2 with Source 2, a complete focus on 6v6 (something like they did with CS when they released the matchmaking update to CSGO after the game failed for its first year), with less weapons, more optimized updates, better customization options in-game, acknowledging and making the existence of main and offclasses a part of the game and really support game tournaments. Maybe calling it Team Fortress Pro or something like that.

A re-release would create the hype the competitive scene needs, people would get curious about it, start watching streams during the beta, most would get interest and keep watching.

But, well, this might be a distant dream. For now, I am happy that some of my TF2 friends are getting success in OW here in Brazil. 3 of the top 10 teams in here are mostly made of TF2 players.

By the way, how people came up with the 6v6 format? I understand 9x9 and 8x8 were tried before, but why not 5v5?

The captain is a SR 50 youtuber that isn't even focused on Overwatch videos (you can watch some "high-level" gameplay here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xD-W_Y9LtY watching a couple of minutes is enough). Also, when he was selected, he made a bullshit video asking for his 4 million subscribers to vote him so he could "achieve his dream" (even though he lives in Canada and goes to Blizzcon every year)

Then there is Zigueira, a famous Rainbow Six pro player who doesn't even play Overwatch (he has played like 20 hours total of OW and he has never played in competitive matchmaking)

Flawz is a decent unknown player (SR 71) who only his friends know, he doesn't play in any team and doesn't take part of the competitive scene (he isn't a streamer nor a youtuber, he didn't ask for votes in any place whatsoever). Nobody knows how the fuck he got the votes, some people are calling bullshit on that.

Nextage is another youtuber, but he is actually a pug player (SR 79), but has ZERO experience playing in a team.

Then the 2 invited players are members of the top 8 teams in Brazil, Insanityz (SR 84) and Soulive (SR 91).

When this event was announced, the competitive community in Brazil saw it as a great opportunity to help the growth of the scene (like Fallen's team helped the CSGO competitive scene in Brazil when they started having success with Keyd in international lans), but now Brazil's team will just be a joke that have zero chances of qualifying to the top 8 finals.

Make it so if the game is already 1-0 or 1-1, the abandon won't end the game (keeping making the game safe to leave if someone leaves in the first round).

I'd rather wait 10 minutes to start a match with ping below 100ms than wait 10 seconds to play with 260ms.

Those commands are made for quickplay, not matchmaking. The first time I tried to play mm after using them I had to play Swiftwater in Stockolm
