The reason you're using your wrist is because that's all you had to do at 5.5in/360. Just keep playing at 8.2 and you'll start actually using your arm eventually.

whatever HUD you're using might be causing problems.
You don't do anything with it. You just look at it to see which crosshair you want to use.
DrakeMegrimWorks just fine for me mate.
Then your particular panel isn't that bad or you're just not noticing it. Pretty much every game changes your color profile in fullscreen.
You can't use the Nexus 4 on Verizon guys.
GET THE MOTO X.
DrakeMegrimNoonaLightboost is optional, whoever I am not a fan of it as it leaves a huge purpley-blue-ish hue on the whole screen. However, from what I have heard from it, it
s hit or miss; Either you like it or you don't.
Why is it that people complain about the colors in /every/ thread about this monitor? Colors out of the box aren't good, everyone knows this. There are fixes out there so that when you do use lightboost you don't get that hue.

Search for the line that begins with:1) Download the appropriate ICC profile below and save it to a suitable place
Because ICC profiles don't work with fullscreen games.
NoonaIf you are unable to run tf2 at 289 fps steadily either get a suitable fps config that will allow you or cap at 144 frames (Which is what I do).
Find your average framerate with Fraps or something and cap it there instead of going straight down to 144 FPS
Keep in mind being able to play with a really shitty computer 2 years ago is way different than being able to play now.
nerkulfrknDeadboltThis isn't necessarily true, a lot of people say they can notice 60Hz->75Hz, in which case you would only need 75 fps to take advantage of it. I would say you'd probably want 90+ to bother and ideally 120+ to get your money's worthWhalewhat kind of fps do you need to make a 120 hz monitor worth it?
120+
if your fps is lower than your refresh rate then it won't really make the game much smootherSetsulIf you don't get >120 fps (preferably about 240) ALL THE TIME a 120Hz monitor won't help you. With 90 fps instead of 120 it would show one frame twice, the next only on time and the frame after that twice, then once and so on. Yes, that looks as awful as it sounds.
tl;dr
Don't get a 120Hz monitor if you can't get >120 fps all the time.
One of these statements is true and one is false. Does anyone with experience know which, please?
Every frame over 60FPS is a benefit but something like 20-30 more frames isn't really worth $300.
gr8stalinDrewFreshman at Stony Brook University on the 23rd.You get your dorm assignment yet? I'm on the Roosevelt Quad @ Stimson, incoming transfer.
I'm in Roosevelt Quad for Global Studies too but I have no idea about anything else.
Unless you're going to take any AP or other classes that will grant you credit in your field for college, it probably won't matter what you do. Take whichever one that interests you more.
@mana
No option for taking the class during the summer?

32hzYeah it is one of their 80plus golds, I'll probably take a run to fry's for a corsair 750w modular power supply or something similar.
Tomorrow I think I can get some ram and a PSU, I'll update accordingly. Thanks for all your help guys. Especially you Jstn, you gave me probably the biggest lead on what it could be.
Dude just follow either of the guides I posted. You don't have to go out and pay for a new PSU to cross off the PSU on your list of possible issues.
Jstn7477 Does the system only come on once and then won't turn on again until you unplug the system from the wall for a bit, or can you endlessly cycle the power button and the system comes on and shuts off every time?
To properly test this use the "paper clip test" on your PSU. I had the same problem a long time ago when a cheap PSU burned out after 6 months and damaged my motherboard. My computer would only boot every other time (I forgot if it was failure to POST or just power failure completely, probably the former). Antec described the paper clip method to verify that it was indeed some sort of mobo problem.
These are just some quick links I found on it.

Don't worry it's very unlikely that you would get shocked while doing this.
