aboOodcrouch + jump script is nice, you don't need to keep extending your finger to the CTRL key.
Binding crouch to shift helps a lot with pinkie pain too.

Have your task manager open and take a look at what's using up CPU when it happens. For me steam client webhelper would spike up to 80%+ of CPU from time to time. Keeping the friend list closed (on desktop and in the steam overlay) solved that for me.

Seriously. Having a group of people to grind with and get better with will multiply your skill rapidly. Just don't anime out at the end of every season and you'll do better.
