Because sometimes people don't join pug servers depending on who is admin, what players are active, what the rules are, how big the skill gap is between members, or whether or not they themselves are banned from most pug groups and have to make one themselves just to play.

It's not as easy as inviting the entire TF2 comp community into one big pug group and then separating them by divisions, at least not using a Discord or Mumble layout.

Since pug servers are basically pop-up stores, I figured I would make it easier for people and create general templates. These templates are best for NA SIXES PUGS, but can work for any type of pug or any region.

If you are non-NA or non-6's, the only changes you would have to make are:

• Changing div names
  
• Changing "Post your RGL" to "Post your <League Name>"
  
• Changing user limit of Picking-Teams to 18, and Red+Blu to 9 each.
  
• Adding other TF2 classes under Roles (But this is only if you plan on using Reaction Roles).

If you want a simple server with few roles and only want to keep the necessary ones that have permissions, you can delete these without breaking the server:

What is your thought process behind it? Do you go for a theme, look for anything that's cool, look for the cheapest non-ugly effect, go for something incredibly goofy looking.

I try to collect any golden pompadour with hearts for my "Johnny Bravo" theme and any class that doesn't have a pompadour hat yet, I looked for a semi-cheap unusual that went well with my pink tomb readers and bear.

I got covid during the last two weeks of RGL S5 and missed out on some scrims. I felt bad because our team already never had a set 6th player so they constantly had to find two ringers for a few day so I decided to just play for the remaining week and a half with a 102° fever. Our losers bracket finals ended up being a little over two hours and even going into golden cap and it felt like the longest game I'd ever played because all I wanted to do was sleep.

Another time, during a 3AM pug, my internet dropped out in my area so I turned on the mobile data on my phone with hotspot and used my computer's wifi to connect to my phone and rejoin the game. It worked fine, there was absolutely zero drops or lag but about ten minutes in, I got autokicked because I couldn't connect to the VAC servers for authenticity and every attempt to rejoin gave me the pop-up error of, "Cannot connect to VAC servers". Relaunching the game didn't help, restarting my computer didn't help, I had to re-verify all my TF2 game files just to join servers again. For a split second, I got extremely worried and thought maybe I did end up triggering something to get a VAC ban and that it would be permanent.

There's a limited number of responses you can possibly contribute to a, "Stardew Valley supports comp scene before TF2" thread.

Valve will never support competitive TF2. Aside from the fact that there are two comp scenes (highlander, 6's) which require their own separate events, it would also require Valve to acknowledge that some people don't enjoy the 12v12, 300+ weapons, no class limits, random crits and random spread format they spent years tweaking to perfection.

Would there even be enough girl players to fill up two teams that could face each other, play their main, and the skill disparity wouldn't be drastic across all the teammates?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that a good chunk of competitive TF2 players do it out of interest and passion and that for them, playing 6's IS a big part of their social life. Not to mention a lot of the non-Invite players are between the ages of teens to mid-20's, where these people would be playing video games with friends to have fun for seven hours a day regardless if it was competitive. I can only assume it's why there are Main and IM teams out there who will scrim five days a week for the chance of winning $30.

I don't see a reason why TF2 players can't play on the weekends aside from the fact that Sat + Sun is usually when Highlander teams scrim, and 6's + HL players have made an invisible pact to not try to overlap each other as much as they can so a player is able to play on two teams.

I remember seeing this video a year or so after it was uploaded and only realizing much later after I discovered comp TF2 this was all footage from 6's games. Back when it was so experimental, they tried throwing Goldrush and Turbine in the rosters.

Valve is hosting God knows how many servers so that bots can flood it and then leave it repeatedly. They see this issue and figure it's okay to take years to find a solution. The bots have only gotten worse as time goes, I'm now hitting consistent points where 100% of the server is just bots.
