#164 RGL S9 Advanced Happenings/Discussion in TF2 General Discussion
Ryotdidn't know b4nny was a pug player before this thx Elena. Not a proven player with 5 million seasons...

The clip of b4nny is from 2014, right on the cusp before he became Mr. Sixes and TF2 still had some competition at the top. 2014 b4nny is an off-limits comparison now?

Wild_Rumpus...him opting to go for another trap that could only ever be blind det instead of covering his escape is a weird decision to say the least

Him shooting the crate and that one sticky on the floor while running out of stickies did look like him covering his escape. I don't think it's a hard read to figure that an explosive class that is pushing out onto your team with uber ad is going to jump towards where you're leaving and then either land in front of the trap or rotate to the health pack. It's not a big brain blind det if he were to get one of them, and he had so many stickies out, it's also not unusual for him to det in hopes of hitting something.

Looking at the Granary one:
https://streamable.com/nh5d6w
Drp has six stickies scattered while running and just seemed to be clearing traps or trying to get the Soldier or Demo who was backing up into his crate traps. The Med walking over the b4nny trap wasn't anticipated and just fortunate for him, but not a suspicious det.

The Snakewater demo looked like his team had fought at mid, chased, then backed up. He sets two traps anticipating they're going to do a typical mid rollout to mid to re-fight. You could say it's suspicious, but that demo is also a month old and if we aren't going to get a small wave of people posting suspicious dets after this post, I don't think having a lucky moment that looks suspicious is out of the ordinary in TF2, especially if you play it 80 hours a week and you have to go as far back as a month to find evidence of it.

https://youtu.be/7QlnxizP6Gw
If b4nny wasn't counting down while streaming, you would think this looks suspicious, too.

Why is the assumption that he must've det'd because of the number of cappers and not that his team was down two, the enemy demo was close to the doorway probably spamming them out, so he could make the assumption they were going to walk forward and take space so he delayed his det trying to guess when they would be walking forward and just got lucky with a pick?

If you're gonna make the statement, "this demo who keeps getting me with all these blind dets", you're gonna need more than one clip with a trap in a very famous spot.

Woah, that's crazy, Valve stonewalling people? That's unheard of, they responded to the community hashtag and everything!

crackbabydumpsteri mean there's edgelords who will just be total morons in scrims who should also get banned. Makes sense to be removed from a community if you can't show basic human decency the problem is when the people making those decisions are too sheltered or whatever to realize how the world actually works,

But some of these are morons in pugs and while talking to their team in mumble and streaming and, except for a couple of outlier moments, RGL does not enforce the same, "behavior policy" in those environments. So it's not actually stopping the toxic people from people toxic.

I also don't quite get why if a team is super toxic you would want to scrim with them again.

I just don't understand why RGL is allowed to police scrims when they don't provide servers and they don't assist in setting up the scrims (It's not guaranteed that everyone who sets up scrims uses their Discord to do so). Does using their config really mean they're allowed that much power? If I make up a config that is nearly identical to the RGL ruleset with like, three changes, does that no longer make it RGL sanctioned and they aren't allowed to ban you over what you do in it? Why is it they've made distinctions that they do not make bans over actions in pugs despite most people using the exact same config?

b0nes_NAwhats the worst that can happen?

It fails and it causes people who were fans of TF2 and still stuck around to keep playing despite the bots decide to drop the game entirely because they start to believe it's a dying game. And then the whole "TF2 is dying" mantra gets louder.

I mean realistically, if you've stuck around with TF2 for this long, you love the game and very little will actually sway you to stop playing, but most of the people I know who play TF2 are competitive players and they're a bit harder to push away from the game than a casual player who could probably be convinced to stop playing.

And regarding the whole, "Valve cares about public image" or "Here are community fixes by fans" thing, look again to OpenFortress and TFClassic. Both were out for a long period of time and then got taken down with rumors of, "Higher-ups are Valve didn't even know these mods were going on". They took those down despite it being a negative mark on their rep. If Valve actually wanted the community's help, Mastercom's would've been in-house optimizing the game years ago.

I just think you're vastly overestimating how much TF2 news or community content employees at Valve actually receive. I would be greatly surprised if a bunch of people who had the power to do something TF2-related even heard of Mastercoms.

b0nes_NAthis twitter trend is better then being a pessimistic pussy and doing nothing for the game you love playing

It's not pessimism, it's realism. The only "announcement" Valve has made about the bot crisis is someone recording Gaben saying a vague, "We have a plan" solution with their phone. It's been years and the bot crisis has gotten worse with silence from Valve. Valve took down TF2Classic and OpenFortress and nobody knows when or if they're coming back, nobody even asked them to do that but they decided they wanted to kill their own game anyway. But you think it's a shitty attitude to acknowledge that Valve is done with TF2 when that's 100% what has happened? A hashtag in the face of a billion dollar company is nothing. There are people who actually do something concrete and end up having it fail horrifically, it's not pessimistic to believe that a Twitter hashtag will do nothing. I could flip the script and say you're not being optimistic, you're being delusional.

Regarding comp, Valve will never pay attention to it because they want TF2 to be a party game.
Regarding casual, I would play on Uncletopia regardless if the bot situation got fixed because I prefer the nocrits and nospread on those servers, and they have enough that one is always full.

I don't want to LFT but it'd be fun to play, did anyone ever get early morning pugs going at the California one, or was the schedule too tight to fit it in?

fygWhy does it matter if the public knows the ban reason? I’m sure rgl isn’t gonna perma ban someone without having proper evidence to support their decision.

Because gossip is more fun than TF2.

#49 Why must you hate me :C in TF2 General Discussion

Claiming you've changed then making all these statements in Page 2 alone proves the opposite.

I know my self. "Rep this rep that". Idc at this point I feel like the funny thing is that most people who hate me are below IM.I don't get what everyone has wrong with my chat binds.Im only loud and obnoxious in comms when I go big other than that I think I have it under control. Its been the same stuff for years relax you have only known me for 2 seasons and those 2 seasons you were still hard stuck in main missing playoffs.I don't value peoples opinion if they cant even play on the same level as me unless they are a very close friend of mine I couldn't care less. Unfortunately, rep is made up by the majority of the comp scene nc-im because that's where the most players are..... I remember this one time I was burning this one NC player so badly in hoboleauge the mf left the pug straight after. Most good main players I'm pretty good friends with.

You're still egotistical, you still feed off of drama, and you're still disrespectful. You think logs are a substitute for being personable. You judge people's opinions based on what div they're in. You asked why do people hate you, some people said your chat binds are annoying, and your response was, "No they aren't".

"Young Sanity is a little kid" becomes less justified the older you are especially considering there are Main and Adv players who are a year or two older than you and don't have these issues at all. You're still acting like you're 12-years old at 15. You'll probably be the same at 18 and then you'll have zero excuse as to why you act like this.
