#1 Razer Deathadder 3.5G Problems in Hardware

I've had my DA for 2-3 years now, and it's giving me a lot of grief.
If I use the legacy drivers, the mouse will freeze for half a second every 7ish seconds unless I end the razerhid process, which will cause my laptop to bluescreen after ~2 minutes.
If I use Synapse, the mouse will frequently freeze and lose its settings/sensitivity for 5-10 seconds, and sometimes Synapse crashes outright.

Is my mouse dying, or are these problems just inherent in the model? The issue with the legacy drivers has been occurring for at least 2 years.

fatswimdudealso eric thats an really odd screenshot of metro

Sorry, I just took the Details view screenshot from the creator's official screenshots album, but they're quite outdated. I updated the image to a screenshot of the latest version, although it doesn't show the Details view.

coIeEric, The Deshou and Futuro steam skins you linked, the owner of them stopped updating their skin long time ago. do they still work?

I haven't tested either, but Steam doesn't change very often in ways that affect skins (with the exception of new features and trading changes). No guarantees, though.

hooliif you like compact and minimalist
http://badanka.github.io/Compact/

It's certainly compact, but it's not minimalistic from a designer's standpoint because it's visually cluttered. Negative space is an important part of design that's almost totally lacking from that skin. It reminds me of the pre-Ribbon Word UI.

coIeis making a steam skin really hard or something? i don't get why good, functional, pretty skins are so scarce. there's literally only air and metro that fits on this category.

It's not that difficult, but it is a lot of work. Nothing about the default Steam UI is "minimal", which is what every good skin tries to accomplish, so you have to change pretty much every element. Steam skins also tend to maintain total functionality, unlike VLC or other media player skins which often remove functionality for simplicity/aesthetics.

Furthermore, as "flat"/minimal design becomes more commonplace, specific design philosophies become more standard. Material Design and Metro are the biggest players in that field. It's difficult to create new designs different from those design philosophies, but still appealing for the same reasons: minimalism and functionality. Taking some cues from Apple would probably give more breadth, but not many heavy Steam users are also Apple users.

#1 Documentation on HUD parameters? in Q/A Help

Is there some highly-detailed documentation on HUD parameters? Specifically, I'd like a complete list of possible parameters for each control type, perhaps even with explanations. Font properties beyond scanlines and blur would be nice, too.

I was reading Source Engine documentation and found some parameters I'd never heard of that turned out to be extremely useful (roundedcorners and auto_wide_tocontents), and I'm willing to bet there are more uncommon manipulations most HUD makers simply haven't seen or tested.

I am already aware of Doodle's HUD guides/documentation; it's far from complete and a bit outdated. I've read the seemingly relevant content on the development wiki, but it mostly describes the already-familiar parameters or C++ code for developing with the Source engine, of which I know very little about.

#2537 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization
Knolyyyyyyyyyhttps://www.dropbox.com/s/887kjj1bkfxkdyy/koth_product_rc80000.jpg?dl=0

2 questions:
What are the lines on my scoreboard and how to remove them? (pop up randomly, go away randomly. Sometimes there is just 1 sometimes there's 5..)

rofl those are the campaign tickets being STREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCHED out, i would recommend setting a reasonable value for medal_width in your scoreboard file

tscThe site is built with Polymer 1.0, which guarantees support for the latest version of each browser. Unfortunately, if you're not using the latest version, there's not really anything we can do to fix your browser not working or make sure it keeps working if it's working right now.

I'm using the latest version of Edge (as of this writing, 10586) and the website doesn't work. Also doesn't work in IE 11.

#2499 HUD editing: short questions, quick answers in Customization

What's the easiest way to edit the tournament HUD with mp_tournament_readymode 1/2 (also, what's the difference between 1 and 2 for that cvar)?

In a local server, I can only see my own player panel, and I can't activate the countdown.

#13 Viaduct : Sun or Snow in Map Discussion
C_Some maps look good with snow. Viaduct isn't one of them.

What? Viaduct was obviously made for snow, because several map design choices only make sense with snow, e.g. very slanted roofs, spruce trees, logs half-buried in the ground.

I don't really think reskinning a map is what Valve means when they say they want to adjust their maps for competitive play. Adding the connector would be an example of a meaningful and plausible development.

#15 Updated G-Mang HUD in Customization
kirbyI guess this is the most appropriate thread to ask, but what does anyone see in this HUD that makes it top tier?

It was designed to be a very pragmatic HUD in every way possible, which made it especially attractive to competitive players.

#16 anyone know how to fix the scoreboard post update? in Customization
SpamfestI tried the above fixes and sadly nothing worked for me. I'm having the issue of players just being entirely missing on the scoreboard, leaving blank space where their alias/score/ping would be normally. In case it matters I'm using a slightly modified version of broeselhud.

What my scoreboard looks like for me: http://i.imgur.com/tw8DxZ1.jpg

My entire scoreboard.cfg file: http://pastebin.com/sAX8sXiB

Any help would be very much appreciated

Your screenshot shows an issue in the spacing of elements in the player lists; this used to be caused by not having "medal_width" in the "scores" control, although from your pastebin, this is not the case.

I tried testing your scoreboard locally, and aside from resolution-dependent issues, it looked fine. If you upload your entire HUD, I can try testing that locally as well.
