BroeselHUD. As some others have pointed out before, it has an amazing capacity for relaying information in the peripheral vision zone, probably better than any non-centric HUD out there.

As for the poll, the reason the "Other" option is getting the majority of the votes is because of the lackluster options you've included. For example, HUDs like bastHUD and HerganHUD are just HUDAS/yahud modifications without significant distinct features or large userbases, and should have been considered variants or in the "Other" category. At the same time, you've omitted some of the more popular and distinct (albeit abandoned) HUDs released, such as KNHUD and G-Mang HUD.

You'd have to have a shit-ton of lamps to make a night-time map work, and/or lots of indoor areas. It's just not aesthetically viable.

The VTV-style layout is an improvement over the OMPHUD-era layout.
Here are some pros:
- is aligned and aesthetically paired with an already-present HUD element (the killfeed)
- enables consistency between BO3's and single matches
- avoids the natural location of the clocks (top center of the screen)
- balances out the HUD elements on the left and the bottom of the screen

Here are a few cons worth addressing:
- doesn't have room for full team names or avatars
- dedicates a lot of space to the current map name, when the map is already apparent from the gameplay footage
- lots of elements in a condensed space, requires a small font yet is still cramped

Well from the screenshot it looks like you're missing tf_english.txt (or whatever language you have it set to), which should be fixed automatically by verifying the game cache. Do you know if any of these issues were present before you tried to remove the customizations?

It's not that people shouldn't make jokes. Censorship is a way worse alternative to allowing offensive behavior. But sometimes such behavior transcends "offensiveness" and becomes harmful.

If people consider things like racism as a punchline rather than a serious and present issue, then that's how people will treat it in the real world. Liking or making racist humor doesn't make you a racist anymore than the same attitude towards rapist humor makes you a rapist, but the consequence of that behavior is that serious problems are less likely to be met with serious responses, which is, in and of itself, harmful. I consider it wrong to harm people for the sake of amusement. Claiming that it is actually a tool which provides insight into certain issues doesn't mean it's any less harmful, although I firmly believe the benefits outweigh the harm it makes in many cases.

As for the case with Jeremy Clarkson, I don't know, since I don't watch Top Gear.

preloading _decal_removal.vpk and then moving to sv_pure 1/2 turns all decals into squares like these

i actually like those squares, as they make it very easy to see exactly where your shots/pellets are landing, especially since surfaceproperties.txt removes the impact effects. any idea how i might get this to work on sv_pure 0?

Please note that the default allowed classes in MGE include Sniper. As such, I don't think you'll get a Soldier/Demo/Scout only server. I wish Sniper was not a default class.

While we're on the topic of MGE servers, I should mention that there aren't any good Chicago servers. Aside from the aforementioned class restriction issues, the few public Chicago servers also tend to be unpopulated. Vatican City actually has damage spread enabled, which is beyond retarded.

My friend had props and players go invisible in a lobby while he was playing demoman, so it's not just hitscan.

On another topic, has anyone noticed a change in combat text batching? I'm using hud_combattext_batching_window 2 but the actual window seems significantly shorter than 2 seconds. I tested in tr_newbots and it's not even as long as the Revolver reload, which is 1.16 seconds. Using the default value of 0.2 seems the same as before.

An option you might want to consider is using toggle-able HUD crosshairs (such as achievement-tracking or playermodel crosshairs), which will allow you to hide your HUD crosshair when you scope through a script.

I figured it was just an admin thing as you personally did it twice, but I can't see how the spam is not awful. It took forever for all the announcements to go away, and they are pretty obtrusive on super-low resolutions.

The problem I have with your Medic-picking process is that it adds minutes to how long it takes the start the PUG, which was already way too long. Last-to-spec does the job near-instantly, although not as fun.

Everything else was okay.

I never had to wait more than 5 minutes between the announcement and the PUG starting in the other PUG groups I mentioned, even after 3 a.m. My only complaint about Party PUGs in particular is probably the skill level of the players.
