i think you need a class that you enjoy playing, and if it is scout, then keep at it.
next, find a sensitivity that you like, and then stick to it for a while and build up the muscle memory
play with bots as a start, if you think human competitive players are too big of a challenge. once you can easily shut down the bots, go practice on some "easy" human targets (like some people in casual/comp matchmaking).
once you feel comfortable enough in these situations, go mge/dm/lobby
also, i don't recommend anything under 60 fps and any ping over 130.
Nice blog. I enjoyed reading this.
stream was enjoyable imo
toads_tfthe tutorials and instructions are fucking garbage
agreed, the basic class tutorial thing barely teaches anything but how to mouse1 and switch weapons, for just four classes.
and it's broken.
Junior year's important due to the SATs/ACTs and other tests. Also, you should be starting to find colleges you have a chance with so you can start on applications for them, if you haven't already.
Get into doing extracurricular activities, as well as finding a job (if you don't have one yet).
Prioritize your time wisely, because you should be aiming to prepare for SATs, ACTs, etc. and scoring well on those. Don't procrastinate in anything, because along with the scores on said tests, people look at your GPA.
If you're into such things, take AP courses. It'll increase how much studying you have to do for tests and increase workload, but they're worth it in the long run (college). Personally, I think getting a head start into courses is great. Getting stuck with doing pre-reqs in college when you could've gotten credits for them in high school isn't really worth not taking AP courses seriously.
Planners are important, as long as you know to check them and use them well. Getting into the habit early in high school helps when you're in college. Planners save me pretty frequently.
rowpieceshow did u get 20 tryouts i cant even get 3 every season
I have no life and I added people for literally every LFP post I saw. Also, maybe because it was the summer season, so more new players were getting into Open.
owlthis post makes it seem like you tend to look down on teammates, which comes through in how you talk to them whether you think it does or not
you might be a great tf2 player but if you can't create a social circle then you'll just end up like the dozens on dozens of skilled players who haven't done anything notable ever
Thanks for the feedback.
I personally don't think I talk in that way. I only ever talk during in-game comms, and then I'm silent. Also, I'm probably monotone, so maybe I just have shit social skills.
prnot trying to be rude but if teams arent picking you up its because you arent good enough.
Well like I said, no one gave me much criticisms ever. So, I have no idea how to improve if I don't receive feedback. I also don't know how good I am if most of the responses are along the lines of "you were pretty solid." Most of these experiences were from this season, with teams looking to be in playoffs, and a couple of Mid-Open teams.
This is why I'm confused.
To clarify, I did try for lower teams this week. Same result. I did try for lower teams last season too, as stated above.
Also, with the lower teams I tried on, I had a miserable time. Soldiers wouldn't know when/how to jump. Scouts fail to hit easy meatshots. Demos complain that I let them die even though they overextend. Stuff like that was what happened last pre-season, and with every lower Open team I've tried for. Maybe I have bad luck.
parkdid you try to get on a team in the newbie mix team drive? wouldve been the best option imo
Maybe I should, but I thought it was for people who have little competitive experience in general, not just little ESEA experience.
This is a subject I'm very confused on.
Basically,
I tried out S21 for Low & Mid-Open teams going to S22. Get rejected/passed over by around 20 teams. I receive feedback on what little things I should improve on.
Simple enough, I go over my demos for better positioning, how to avoid damage and surf, etc. I improved comms, I arrowed better.
Try again this season, for Mid &High-Open teams. Get rejected/passed over by almost 10 teams. I receive feedback from people who cared enough to give me feedback. Barely received criticism, mainly issues with occasional ping issues and my mic. Only problem was that I have no league experience, which I can't get if this problem occurs every time I play/tryout.
Am I missing something here? Am I supposed to be an Invite level medic to play in Open now? Do I need to chill in other's Mumble channels and make friends so people look at the social aspect more? Should I stop asking for tryout results and just assume I'm already rejected? Help me out here.
TL;DR: How am I supposed to gain experience, if no one ever picks me? Am I supposed to keep repeating this horrible process forever and hope? Should I just quit and give up what I like playing and go get cancer from Overwatch? (Sorry OW players).
EDIT: Feel free to message me or add me to chat.
