#14 TF2 Stuttering in Q/A Help

The second part would be how TF2 deals with custom content. The way it works is that it'll load what's needed when it's needed. This means for HUDs that they'll load the specific parts of the hud when brought up like scoreboards and the like. I've found that the best way to avoid stuff like this is to pack them in VPK files (without the fonts as VPK does not handle fonts, you'll need to have them in a custom folder per normal install.)

WaldoFoghookyIf you're playing in windowed mode, you have vsync on. Without 3rd party tools that are banned in leagues, you can't turn it off on AMD/ATI cards as it's forced in Windows 8 and the drivers cannot turn it off at the OS level.Wow, great to know.

I use Windowed mode for streaming and easier alt-tabbing. This would make me especially considering going back to full-screen/dual-booting into XP
I'm pretty sure he means that it's only forced in Win8, so if you're in XP you should be fine.

I'm on Windows 8

#20 Open Playoff Spots! in TF2 General Discussion
TerywjFogTerywjNot to mention that (as far as I know) any team that makes playoffs is bumped into IM for next season, and 32 teams is wayyyy too many, not to mention like half of them will probably die. Unless the teams in IM get moved into Main for S15
I thought Killing said in order for Main to happen they'd need like 35+ stable IM teams, and there are only like 20 teams in IM right now.

but if you move up 32 open teams into IM...

#1 Open Playoff Spots! in TF2 General Discussion

Saw a thread for IM playoffs and decided to do the same for Open.

It's still unsure if playoffs this season will be 16 or 32 teams (it's up for the higher ups to decide). This is perhaps the most competitive open season to date, with 31 teams currently sitting above .500.

Thoughts?

#15 PC not detecting new HDD in Hardware

That particular hard-drive is filled with DOA (dead-on-arrival) drives. Also you don't need to have an add-in card to convert a SATA 6GB to 3GB.

You definitely have yourself a dead drive if it doesn't even power on at all.

#5 Avoid Damage when going through Gully 2nd forward in TF2 General Discussion

After more testing, jumping AND crouching at the same time is much more effective then just regular jumping. If you were still experiencing issues with the door causing damage, try my new method instead.

#1 Avoid Damage when going through Gully 2nd forward in TF2 General Discussion

For those looking to avoid damage when going through the Gullywash 2nd forward spawn doors, simply jump when coming out of the doors.

You'll no longer lose health when going through the doors.

Another helpful tip from Fog :D

#19 patch 7/11 in TF2 General Discussion

This update fixed the rollout issue where splash damage done inside spawn did not hurt you if you were outside of spawn.
