The only thing about the Abyssus is that there's no side buttons on the mouse, which is something that I look for in every mouse nowadays (since my medic style requires it).

I'm thinking of picking up a new mouse/mousepad to replace my existing Orochi/QcK (the QcK my brother found at school). Would the Zowie AM be a good mouse to pick up for a small mouse? Also what would be a good mousepad to work with it?

I personally use a Razer Orochi, it's comes with a detachable mouse cable and is built for Laptops. It should fit with what you're looking for quite nicely
