I understand why, but I just don't understand how. I use mine for an hour and my finger starts to hurt.

#81 Gpit Tonight in TF2 General Discussion
PlatinumI would disagree john. Sure the end of each round might be exciting as the timer counts down.. But a lot of games.... The time leading up to that is filled with boring building... 2 seconds of suicides.... Building uber.. Push fail.... Etc. I am all for map diversity but a map that literally no team ever wants to play outside of a match should probably be considered for removal. I would like to see another ad that people enjoy or koth replace it.

Great point. If you don't think that this is true, try any of these;
1) Outside of gpit week, try to get a scrim on it or
2) Try to RTV during a pug to gpit

Both are extremely hard things to do

#72 Gpit Tonight in TF2 General Discussion

I have never been a fan of Gpit but I think the problem is having it early in the season. This is a map where playing together (timing of jumps, covering the correct area, covering teammates) is as important as raw DM. This doesn't come immediately to new teams and while it's important in 5 cp maps, you get to gpit week and it shows to the extreme.

I would think that changing it to a later week would help new teams

Mines only 12.9, so you shouldn't say it's not possible, it's just cutting it tight

#18 laptop for college in Hardware

Also, it should be said that college is not like HS, you're going to want a shitty small and good battery life laptop (Ie, NOT a gaming laptop) since you're going to have to walk all over campus with it and a few classes worth of books.

Oh and as far as I could tell, there was never really people that just picked on people for stupid stuff life having a nice computer or being a nerd in classes or in the dorms.

#16 laptop for college in Hardware

Like other people are saying, it's not a big deal at all in college. Hell, my freshman year I told my tower, 2 monitors, laptop, a leather chair, and a 32 inch TV, oh and these absurd Klipsch 5.1 computer speaks before they died that had two 10inch subs that would shake the our hall.

People knew that I played games and never cared, in fact, I would say that having that setup helped a bit. Always easier to explain to girls that you have a nice movie watching setup in your single, instead of spending time with their roomate in their room.

#4 X-box One at E3 in Off Topic
Biohttp://youtu.be/0GwurgaAIQg?t=24m7srQwireTo be honest this is probably what PS4 was doing and what most hardware was doing before. The fact is that the hardware is not 100% ready and it was easier to just emulate the console using similar hardware on windows than trying to fully producing enough XboxOne for E3. I really doubt that the hardware used at E3 would really be more powerful than what the XboxOne actually uses. Unless some news comes out about how the PCs were running Intel 2011 socket CPUs OC'ed and GTX Titans x2, this is really a non-issue that people are blowing out of proportion as an excuse to hate the XboxOne even more.

EDIT: BIO LOVE THE LINK FOR THE LINUS STREAM.

While I understand it's completely possible (and easier) to have a PC emulate the consoles, what I am trying to understand is why the devs would want to. Again, I usually don't watch this kind of conventions but it makes me never want to really watch them anymore. If the whole point of having these things to hype a console, shouldn't the console be ready before they have it? Especially when it's both parties. It's like seeing an add for a game and it pisses me off when there is no actual gameplay footage, only cutscenes. I know that there is a few other things that do this, like car shows, but I think that is another reason why the "average" customer doesn't get excited over something that is only theoretical.

The whole point of my post wasn't to bash X-box One as much as try to understand why would a company hype something that doesn't even exist. It's basically not showing you anything on the product, only that here is what it could look like.

Is this true? And is this a common practice at this types of conventions? I'll be honest, I really have never paid too much attention to these kinds of things, maybe because I'm usually busy or because there is usually too many videos and not enough articles. Either way, I did watch some of it this year and was wondering why anyone would think doing that would be a good idea?

#2 is this monitor good? in Off Topic

It's usually easier to compare to the other monitors that are available to you in your area/price range. This is the best way to get pro vs cons, instead of only opinions.

#10 Newbie Mixes! in TF2 General Discussion

If there is a lot of newbies and little coaches, I have no problem coaching from spec. Other than having a new medic and myself pocketing, it is usually best to do that anyways.

I should be in in a bit as soon as I get off this work call.

#7 Newbie Mixes! in TF2 General Discussion

Wife is out of town today, so I can show up around 10ish to help. I don't remember if I still have admin to the channel but if the server password hasn't changed in the last few months I will be able to set up maps when/if needed.

Also, you probably had "finals" then too, they just weren't very important to your grade. At least this wasn't the case for me a long, long time ago.

#24 Superman! -no spoilers in Off Topic

I haven't seen the movie and it's unlikely that I will because of the state of action movies in strong CG years. The whole idea of an good action movie is having plot and character development with some adrenaline scenes mixed in. Without having much of the first, a person is unlikely to care about the characters, which leads them not to really care about the fight scenes since there is no emotional connection.

I have been watching more old and oldish SCI-FI shows on netflix and amazon, since I never watched any until I was about 25, so maybe I am getting jaded as far as plot goes. I just feel like a few million spent on 2-3 seasons on a good show would have so much more connection to an audience than two hours of a movie costing 50 million to make.

Oh yeah, this is to get rid of reality TV
