#1 Need a roamer and a demo (ESEA) in Recruitment (looking for team)

We are in need of tryouts for demo and a roamer soldier. Have some decent experience please. We scrim Mon-Thurs, and sometimes on Sunday 9EST to when we are finished (11-12est). Add me and talk to me if you're interested. I guess know your jumps, positioning, works with team, makes calls, and don't rage is the main attributes that we are looking for in someone. DM is the least important factor to me, EDIT - but you would still have to work on it.

http://play.esea.net/teams/70103

Medic- Miku
Pocket- Rigel
Demo- need
Roamer- need
Scout- Slinky
Scout- Fzero

Side note, we may still play tonight but it wouldn't be a real tryout. Since our med has a special date, we would have to get a ringer. So it would be more like a PUG, but a cool hangout.

I only needed a week one for a backup, and meant the second part only as a joke.

#11 pocket/demo/roamer looking in Recruitment (looking for team)

Never said that everyone gets along, if people want to leave teams I understand that completely. The point that I am trying to get across is that no matter how upset you feel about one out of six people on your team, you should, at least, wait until after a match that is scheduled for that day. Again, if someone wants to leave, that is fine. But you should attempt not to try to fuck the said team in the process. Leaving less than a hour before is just trying to deal as much damage as possible. Especially this comes into play when the said person leaves mumble and doesn't even say they are leaving the roster.

Also, the person you were so upset about payed your league and premium fees, so you would think they would at least play the scheduled match

I normally do not like saying things like this, but it should be known that him and another person on the team got into an argument and he quit the team 30-40 minutes before an ESEA match. Which lead us to having to use a backup for the match.

I am not saying that he a bad pickup, just explaining that he may make quick decisions that he believes is best but could hurt your team.

#33 THE LATEST GREATEST PUGNA EXPERIENCE in TF2 General Discussion
PhraktureI was restricted just before break for running pyro the last 2 rounds when my team was rolling the other easily. What exactly is the purpose for admins in the pug.na system? They seem to only ban out of rage or hatred and most ignore broken rules on their teams. Just seems silly to me.

Actually, I would agree with that. It really bugs me when people will off-class when their team is doming the other team. There really is no reason to make a roll last longer because you're wasting peoples time and there is no reason to add insult to injury. I'm only saying this to Phraktures case only

hookyIn my opinion, no one has a reason to own an assault rifle unless they're of authority. Or anything more than a hunting rifle, really. Maybe something that will stop a criminal.

If you say that hunting rifles should be banned because they can be used to kill people even though their main purposes are sport and food, then cars should be banned because they can kill people even though their main purpose is transportation. Just my opinion. If you believe that animals should not be used for sport/food then it's fine for you to believe that.

Note: I personally do not hunt.

And if you noticed, those people that are arguing for gun restrictions will never say remove all weapons. We generally only want to remove those that are designed to kill other people. The hard part is the gun lovers are, more often than not, not willing to move an inch to the center. Not all, but a majority.

#57 Let's Talk About Newbie Mixes in TF2 General Discussion
fraacHalftime could be used to swap a player if one team were getting rolled, if nothing else.
FzeroAre you trying to say that if you told people it was Sunday, they would still show up on Friday? If that is the case, then the real problem is getting your message out to the public correctly.
Exactly, you need to put in more energy to have people react properly to changes. Keeping things on the same day is the easiest way to be self-sustaining, not draining. Get back to me when you run a mix group.

I understand your point, but again, the issue is that there is not enough coaches on Friday night. The problem isn't enough new players. If we need more coaches and not getting enough on that night, almost every single time, then something needs to change a bit. Yelling to people to show up more often on a night that less people are around, isn't likely to give any different results. If I check my friends list on Friday night, I generally will only have like 25% that are online and not away.

frknEggplantfrknIf you unilaterally ban firearms, you're taking away some people's perfectly peaceful way of life. That's the opposite of the principles this country was founded on.

fraac20% turnout. Mix groups only work if the (huge) energy you put into them is rewarded. Change the days and you would have to keep putting in energy for little reward. It doesn't work.

I'm really not quite understanding what you're saying here. Are you trying to say that if you told people it was Sunday, they would still show up on Friday? If that is the case, then the real problem is getting your message out to the public correctly. This is what I explained in the first page.

Again, if you're saying that when/if you changed the day it happened people would still show up on the original day, then your message is not getting out to enough people or not early enough. Does that make sense to you?

fraacFzeroChange days of play, if you want to play on Fridays, make the next week a Sunday or something. This will get more people to coach and play, since not everyone is going to play on Friday night.
Just a tiny point that this doesn't work. Any group of people larger than 2 is incredibly sluggish to adapt to change. If 100 people turned up on Friday one week and you told them it was Sunday the next week, 80 would turn up on Friday.

And? Having a 80% turnout is not bad in the slightest. Hell, I've worked in politics for the last 10 years and the field people that recruit volunteers explain that having a 50% turnout is great.

Not to mention again, I said that point to get DIFFERENT people and more MENTORS, most of the mentors that I have been around do not play often on Friday night

brownymasterFzeroThat's not correct at all, they were banned from Clinton for, I think, 10 years, but it was never renewed in 2004. Oh, I thought you said assault weaponsYou're right, fully auto isn't banned in a good number of states. They just need background checks and ATF licensing which may still have leaks, albeit much less I'm betting.

I think almost every assault weapon law deals with semi-auto weapons. I never checked other state laws since automatic weapons are banned in California (assault weapons cover different semi-auto in my state). But still, every single modern gun is a semi-automatic weapon (meaning it loads the next bullet using the energy from the cap). Only pump shotguns aren't semiautomatic (that I can think of that's being actively used).

Well, it was a 223 assault rifle that was used primary in the shooting. Most of the children had 3-7 shots into them. When it comes to assault rifles, most states do not have bans on them. I honestly cannot think of a reason why an average, non-military, person needs to own one of these types of weapons. It's not like you're going hunting with these, nor would they be practical in self defense. I just never understood what reason anti-gun law people to argue against a federal ban on these weapons

brownymasterFzeroBefore I go any further, I want to know how people feel about this statement, especially pro-gun people; What about a ban on auto and semi-auto weapons, or at least semi-auto pistols with extended clips? Or as others have said, limit the amount of ammo that one person can legally purchase?Automatic weapons are already banned (it's very hard to own one). Banning semi-automatic weapons bans everything basically. Don't care much about the extended clips. Also, how would you limit ammo? Would it be x per year, x per month? What about police officers who train and shoot with their own money? Who gets the special privilege to buy more ammo (exhibition shooters, gun manufactures, etc)? Because some people need a lot more ammo than others.

That's not correct at all, they were banned from Clinton for, I think, 10 years, but it was never renewed in 2004. Oh, I thought you said assault weapons
