6 paid and readied up?
parkcan someone explain how the escape plan change affects uber building?
Have your soldier damage themselves then switch to the Escape Plan. The medic heals the damage really slowly but still builds uber at the same rate so the soldier doesn't have to waste extra rockets to stay below 90ish percent hp.
clckwrkIt's too bad they can't take 10% of that effort and write a paragraph about TF2 LAN finals on the front page of that website ;)
Well they do take the effort to post about that, just not on their oh so sacred front page.
Edit: Oh shit they didn't even mention i52 in their news section. I swore it was mentioned in the i49 Fragumentary post but I guess they really didn't give a damn about the event.
Here is a pretty interesting article I found awhile back on a guy who got swatted.
There is really no way to stop this from happening, the only thing people can do is try and prevent it. If police get a call that there is a hostage situation, armed gunman or bomb threat, they have to respond to it. Probably the best course of action is for people who are in danger of being 'swatted' to tell the police.
That person would need to tell the police of the situation and show them that there is a threat of them being swatted. Then some sort of deal could be worked out where the guy shows the police he isn't a threat and the police would call them or send an officer to check in if they do get an emergency call.
Not perfect but it really is the best way it can be done at this point.
I am just happy that Google doesn't get a stronger stranglehold on internet video content. I am also surprised that I didn't think this could happen. Amazon is expanding and trying to compete in so many markets (app/game making, top boxs, smartphones, video/audio content, servers, cloud drives, ebooks, audiobooks, digital game distribution, fucking groceries) that expanding into live video content makes perfect sense. And if there is one company that can really start to rival Google in video content, it's Amazon.
I am so excited for a NA/EU finals but I also feel a bit weird. Is this mix^'s first tournament ever in which they didn't get into the grand finals?
Daveiiwhy do valve not like 6s? have people actually spoken to them about 6s vs hl ?
About a year ago, Sal and eXtine meet with the TF2 team and discussed competitive tf2 and the possibility of a match making system.

Valve's main problem with 6's is that it is drastically different from pubs or the "standard" game, compared to other games with competitive scenes at least. If you look at games with high support for the competitive scene (Dota, LoL, Starcraft, CS:GO, Smite, even fucking Hearthstone), the pubbers and the top tier players are playing the same game with the same rules. When the average Dota player watches the International, they pretty much know what is going on.
When the average TF2 player watchs an ESEA lan, they wouldn't know exactly why things are the way they are. Why are there only 6 players on each team? Why is there a limit of 2 on soldier and scout but only one demoman and medic? Why are they only playing to 5 rounds? Why are all of these weapons banned but these aren't?
This gap in rules is why Valve is not going to really support the way 6s is currently setup. Highlander has a much smaller gap for players to jump, so it is more likely Valve would be willing to implement that kind of system into TF2.

I am just going to second this. This game is what really sold competitive 6s to me, it is just so damned good.
Here are some more vods of that as well.
- Added a new startup music track from Expiration Date
How many goddamned music tracks are there in Expiration Date.
freakinBack in May when he made the video it was an if. I believe it is definite now.
When I say if, it doesn't necessarily refer to the deal that Twitch and Youtube have made. If refers to if the government allows the merger to happen. With a vague not-yet-officially confirmed statement like "a deal has been signed" this sounds more like the finishing touches of a deal between Youtube and Twitch and not a deal that has the stamps of approval from all the antitrust and other regulatory agencies/departments/divisions/committees/whatever it needs to be approved.
However by the way Comcast/TWC merger has gone so far, I am pretty sure Google can find a way to make this work.
Edit: Words are difficult.
For a decent analysis on the pros and cons of the situation, here is a video that TotalBiscuit did when this was first rumored.
Even if you don't like/hate him, I still suggest watching this video as this guy makes a living using both services and knows the in and outs of both better than most people. He goes into depth about the good and shitty things about each service and what he expects to happen if the merger goes through.
I like this feature quite a bit as before there wasn't really a great or fair way to do this. When there is a massive event and someone wanted to talk with their chat, they had to either restream it (which is sketchy in the best of circumstances) or people had to have two separate windows open, which is awkward. When there is the International, AGDQ, a E3 conference or whatever, you would rather chat with people in a channel you know rather than a chat with 100k+ people so I like this change.
A couple things I hope comes of this, would be them integrating this into their underused chat system. When that chat selection thing comes up, there is a list of the chats the host created and then a list of stream chats that are rehosting that stream.
Some other, more unlikely, things I would like would be the ability of the rehoster to commentate (or have facecams/overlays) over the stream. However I feel like that would be very hard/awkward to code and implement. Something that can be done however is the ability to restream like people previously have but to give that streamer the ability to mark themselves as a rehoster of the original stream. So the views, ad revenue and chat system I suggested before would work like a normal rehosted stream but somebody can slap a cleavage cam on it, talk with their chat and have horns blare whenever somebody subscribes.
I am extremely interested in seeing this happen. Whenever there is a change that affects 6s, I always want to play around with them and actually test them out. 6s as it is now is fine but I always think there is some changes that people aren't really willing to test out that could make the gamemode better or just more fun for people.
