yukiwhat's the deal with fantasy tf2 and mercs/ringers?
In general I think allowing players to earn points from mercing is fine, they're participating in the match so they should get points. Because the scene is pretty casual it's hard to keep track of players who come in and out so it's a tough call on how many potentially inactive reserve type players to include, but ozfortress admins are offering invaluable help in that regard.
It's a tall order expecting fantasy team owners to predict mercs, but there are numerous other factors out of player control like player or team drops, etc, so it just adds something to the mix to take into account, and encourages anyone taking it seriously to keep up with the gossip.
There are some other selection problems that are a bigger problem, I'm working on some improvements to the team selection process to allow changes in class/team to be better enforced, currently people are stuck where they start to avoid invalidating existing teams.
