the QF build rate should be the same as kritz.
it builds so fast that if you fail running ordinary uber against it, you will lose the round.
RangiPlease interview the Aussies too if you can :)
that'll be next week
scrimshawHandcuffedi don't really give a shit about all of this and which blue-named person gets the + frags and which get the - frags, but HRG players are seemingly always involved in the MGE tourneys and were easily the most active team during the charity event. Shit, B4nny even donated his unusual during that event (rather than sell it for LAN funds). It's disingenuous to suggest that they don't support the community just because they don't stream frequently.that unusual was given to him to sell at the end of the season for charity iirc. and playing in an mge tournament to win the prize isn't a selfless act rofl.
maybe on the unusual, i'm not sure. i guess i'll take your word for it.
and certainly those mge or bball tournaments have small key awards, but they're popularized in part because HRG players (and other invite or well-known players) are participating. that participation helps the community, and its something that HRG players seem to do more than most other invite teams. that's all i was saying.
defyit's kind of sad how people are constantly playing this card "well you don't have to donate so why do you care" no shit you don't have to that's not the point at all ! point being you have a team with a sponsorship, they have jobs, more than likely going to take 1st place at lan, winnnings + sponsor funds and still asking for donations from a community that is constantly helping out, this is the worst possible timing especially with tri hards situation how do people not see that?
and its the fact that there is a handful of players that don't contribute to the community all season and at the last minute they're looking for hand outs while offering up things they shouldn't be charging for in the first place, mentoring sessions and things of that sort can easily be met without asking for funds, blank did a ton of demo reviews and didn't ask for anything in return, and it's going to be the same scenario it's been every season, you'll see the content provided in return for donations then once lan is over you won't see it again. you wont see people streaming as much or offering any sort of mentoring sessions they'll just return to playing and it's gonna continue on that cycle. people need to be more realistic about this situation, it's kind of mental how it took this many seasons for people to catch on to all of this

WariHellbentAs a roamer main I'd rather have it do 0 damage than have minicrits
The damage isn't the problem though. The problem is that the escape plan's utility far outshines every other melee weapon that the soldier has. Since there was effectively no reason NOT to use the escape plan, everyone ran it. Valve needed to add a risk to actually using the escape plan, otherwise it would forever stay way better than every other melee.
As you all keep saying, you would gladly give up the damage of the EP to have it back to how it was before, but you aren't even going to use the damage in the first place with it, so what the fuck kind of downside would that be? The escaping utility is worth way more than just losing your damage, since it gives you a second chance. Minicrits mean that there's an ACTUAL DOWNSIDE TO USING THE ESCAPE PLAN. A downside for using one weapon and not another is something you need if you want balanced sidegrades. As it stood before, there was not a single reason in the world not to use the escape plan.
unbanthedisciplinaryaction2013
paintrainbackcaps2013
-Rice-i don't mind changing the escape plan but i rather it would not be marked for death
i was scrimming with my team earlier and bascially at any point i had the escape plan out i would die and it was coming to the point where it was just ridiuclus as nothing could be accomplished with it with out a scout killing me from halfway across the map
after this update im using paintrain to be honest, or ham since it it awesome
so sounds like valve did exactly what they were trying to do.
don't vote for the disciplinary action to be banned next season.
the weapon already is viable for competitive play. your proposed changes buffs a weapon that is already a superior option in most situations than the soldier melee alternatives.
on granary
wipe at mid
med equip quick fix
actually have a chance
r4ptureAll of these changes are amazing
but as a HL engie main I fear for the future
For the gunslinger, I can see the taking away regen on the mini, but it would still need to spawn with full health. I know people hate it, but keep in mind minis are designed to be deployed in the middle of a firefight, so if they spawned with 0 health and grew, they would be useless and killed instantly. I'm going to guess they'll change it to spawn with full health and no regen, which would still make it much easier to kill before deployment but not completely useless.
I do await to see what they do with the wrangler though.
EDIT: and fucking please do remove the uber sapping from the pomson. I play the fucking class and I think thats kinda dumb.
why are minis designed to be deployed in the middle of a fight? i disagree with that entirely.
engis shouldn't ever be caught in the middle of a fight. their role is for support. they shouldn't be able to essentially DR out of a fight because they can drop two minis and either run away or use their shotgun to down someone.
2sy_morphiendfrknconductorI'm not saying hrg isn't a good team (they are), I'm just saying that they just get praised so much that it feels excessive. I'd rather be hearing about the misstep that the other team made than people talking about how good player x is all the timeyou mean like when boomer was backcapping last and b4nny stopped him?
I just made a thread to see if anybody felt the same way but I guess not
boomer didn't really make a mistake, b4nny is just fucking good
yeah but we don't need to constantly hear how b4nny is the best player in the game the same way that james chen doesn't have to fucking give a 20 minute lecture on game mechanics when someone gets hit by the gootecks shimmy.
HRG gets dickrode pretty fucking hard because literally every time a player gets a flank off/tagg bomb the casters automatically go to TAGG IS THE BEST ROAMER/SHRUGGER IS THE BEST SCOUT/CYZER BROWN POWER. Nobody seems to ever mention when casting that the opposing team is pushing 6 players through choke with bad health and no one is watching three players walk into their ass from flank.
to be fair to the casters, ruwin did say at one point tonight (i think 4-1 HRG with tri hards pushing hrg's second) that the tri hards should not be pushing on a post-uber fight. and then they were wiped.
i, too, appreciate more of the tactical analysis rather than the play-by-play casts, but granary is a very linear map and there's frankly not much to discuss in the way of flank plays. keep your med up and wipe the other team at mid? get frags on the last push and win the round. both medics up? whomever has a demo can take yard/the second point. there was what, a single off-classing stalemate tonight? not all that much time for the casters to discuss what teams are or should be doing imo.
unless you're looking for, "tri hard scouts are missing shots tonight"-type comments. which, i would imagine, in a 3-0 (5-2) quasi-roll, it'd be equally as boring to hear.
5-2 tri hards even though predicting against HRG can make you look stupid
korean pilots are pretty notoriously shit at manuel landing. don't fly air asia.
Is it even still worthwhile to have maps exclusively played during a single week during the season? Randomizing both the matchups and the maps makes the game far more interesting, as it (likely) requires proficiency on multiple maps simultaneously. Additionally, viewers and players alike aren't forced into watching/playing a week's worth of a map and growing stale with its flaws (e.g. snakewater last, gravelpit everyone, granary mids).
I think playing different maps each game would increase the competitiveness of the leagues (as the teams who can practice their positioning the most or employ their tactics the best can't focus exclusively on the one map) and reward teams for their continuity (as a team that has stuck together and practiced on each map is obviously benefited). You could see teams sell out and practice exclusively for perhaps the stronger opponent, perhaps allowing for a higher chance of an upset in the match with the lesser team.
I don't actually play competitive TF2, and I'm guessing this idea would be poorly received by those who do because of the ease in finding scrims and warm-ups before a match when everyone shares the same map for the week. But in the scrims I view from streamers, teams usually get in multiple best-of-5's so taking turns on the maps could still happen. And maybe teams wouldn't so often play so exclusively with their scrim "partners" (Top Guns/Mix^ and HRG/tri hards), which I think is a good thing.
bl4nkAlmost no one else does it in this game because it's risky and everybody plays to not lose rather than play to win.
what does this even mean?
