mustardoverlordMunchThe main problem that was going on when stalin was running new map pugs is that it was hard to get people that actually wanted to test new maps. Sure we could get 12 in a server but they'd either just fuck around the entire pug or they just never gave any actual feedback and kept asking if we could play the "good" maps instead (which at the time was sunshine). Imo if people want to get GOOD NEW maps into the rotation there needs to be a group of higher level players... like IM+ at least taking a few hours out of their nights on pug.na or whatever to just play some new maps and give actual feedback to the map makers. This would also help with the problem of people just voting in whatever without actually knowing what the map is like at all.

The thread isn't that old, but I'd venture to guess the majority of the people who hit other are using my CFG, m0re's, or Stabby's.
Ah, didn't know there were that many alternative configs. I think the survey should have had "Other" and "None" as separate categories.

TheFragileTMPI personally would be interested in watching some more modern games on Yukon. See how people would approach the map now and whatnot. It's been a long time since I've seen Yukon played competitively in any format.
You will. I just added Yukon to the GXL map pool.
Cool. I'm pretty excited to see how teams play the map now that the metagame has changed so much since it was last in the rotation.

GetawhalekirbyI really wish we had a dedicated map maker (or more than one would work) that fixed a lot of older maps. So much lost potential.
Since Freight was mentioned already, I should mention that Fishbus was previously working on a new version of that map with a completely reworked last point and tweaks to second. I'm not sure if he abandoned it or what, but it was being tested.
Honestly a few changes to make the chokes less awful would make the map great. I remember playing it in a pug and it was very fun unless we stalemated it out on last.
