A team that is going to either take first or second place that also has a sponsor does not need the community's help to pay for ESEA LAN. Even if you take second you can still pay for all of the LAN's expenses and still make a profit with the exception of your single Canadian, who would be losing roughly ~100 dollars while the rest of his team makes money.
gr8stalinKalkinhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWtpAzbEnc8Did you play/like Blue Dragon? I've been meaning to give it a shot.
I've never played Blue Dragon. Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden.

Losing this match.

If you know in advance that it's going to be a ffw either because the team is marked dead or they have said that they are forfeiting you can open a support ticket to have it reported ahead of time.
To explain: One of my goals with the Invite prize pot was to reduce our dependence upon sponsors. That's why the lower end prize pots have increased. so dramatically.
It's true that Invite players now pay a $50 league fee and that is substantial, but at the same time with the raise to the 4th place prize pot from $1200 (and even lower before) to $1500 we're finally at a place where an Invite team that takes fourth will roughly break even from their trip to Dallas. You might pay a $50 league fee, but at least from that you have the security to know that if you make LAN it's essentially something that is paid for. You'll probably still lose some money on the trip, but with $250 per player it'll mostly pay for everyone's airfare and won't be a gigantic out of pocket expense.
This game will never have tons of team sponsors again, but thankfully we don't exactly need them with our current model.
TwitchTVJohnThis is the biggest season ever, AFAIK.
This is true.
When I lose duels in pubs to random players.
thesupremecommanderI don't doubt for a second that there will be a replacement (being only one of what are probably many working on such a project) if ESEA TF2 ceases to be a thing in the future, but the big question is whether the NA competitive community is ready to accept the sacrifices that have to be made (the big possible one being no LAN) in order to make such a league work.
It's not "the big possible one". It's a fact.
