komorebiWhen I hover over team icons I don't get rosters so just in case you haven't found them yet:
I think he meant on the wiki page not on tf.tv and it's definitely working
You can view the full rosters for the teams in the invite group and a lot more information about the lan at our comp.tf i55 page
Huge shoutout to ffc who has been crucial working on this page and already setup the whole bracket / group tables, with dynamic tables / live notes and a lot more fancy javascript stuff.

DigresserUltimately, the clips were a good mixture of game formats and regions; it's just very clear that players from the higher divisions need to submit more (although congrats to the newer players who ended up with unexpected glory as a result).
I mean isn't it telling why they don't submit more? Literally the lowest skilled division in the game, a Iron UGC match and a random Arena:Respawn match got a higher ranking than a 6k between 2 of the best teams in europe. This is not a case of players being good and rather more of a case of the enemies being very very bad.
Not to mention the only shot below 50 in that herr_p streak was on the demo so it wasn't like he was "scratching down players who aren't looking at him" like extine said.
Literally 90% of the people on this forum could have done that stuff against a Iron team or some random A:R team (I dont even know what level is that, but by the horrific aim of those players I would estimate below Iron. If it's a top 10 plays of the month I think it would benefit the community more to truly represent competitive at its highest level.
Now it's official, second biggest prizepool in tf2 history after the PC Gamer Showdown
What a time to be alive.
16jacobji55 frag movie is gonna come out before the i52 one
if this is to go forward this is gonna be like a 6 month project at least.
komorebiWould it be helpful if people who watched lan kept timestamps of big plays? Obviously not as good as ticks but it might save work for you, especially for people watching the second stream/smaller games.
That would be incredibly helpfull. For the i55 teaser for example, I went through the ggg vods and these were my notes, granted this is only the stuff caught on stream, also the timings are the time left on map (the easiest way to associate with ticks) and the map times are the start on the VOD.
Then I have notes like good cast sound and stuff like that, that helps me know if a specific frag had a nice or exciting casting bit I could later past over the frag.
I sincerely hope the players bookmark their good stuff so it's easier to go through it (because it's always better to record from a pov demo. And also there's always stuff that's not caught live on stream.
I know hildreth put up a thread a while back about this and the possibility of saloon sponsoring an i55 fragmovie, that idea was scrapped/there wasn't any advance to it. And I would really love to work on that, even independently.
This would be something I would pull out all the stops for. And I would love to work on a project of this kind, after having worked on all the PotDs for comptf, and specially on Infinite Power, I know I am capable of diving into a project of this dimension as long as there's support for that of course.
So this is basically me asking that question and regardless if so happens, just as a start can we please have every player record their POV demos, preferably through P-REC and save them after lan. Let's not pull a TCM who deleted all their pov demos after leaving lan cuz the PCs were rental. And don't forget to bookmark stuff.
competition is good. I'm happy youtube is trying to enter the livestreaming market for gaming. At the very least it just makes people take the gaming industry more seriously and not as a joke
ScilliantBobsplosionI'll add Nymthae then. His profile is private, so could someone who knows them send them a message saying I'm not a random idiot?you can pm him on tftv: http://www.teamfortress.tv/user/nymthae
edit: nvm
it's her btw :)
BobsplosiontscI've PMed you a direct email to the team in charge of sponsorships, which might expedite the process.Sounds great, thanks a ton. I'll send them a note as well.
Edit: I think the email just redirected me back to enquiries, so it's possible they just got my message twice. We'll have to see, I guess.
Hope you get it sorted out, would be amazing to have even more prizepool support for lan
BobsplosionAlright so I've got the Insomnia people, nymthae/Firestorm, and Multiplay. Who should I actually ask? Just all of them?
Nymthae has been handling the tf2 "division" of multiplay lans as of lately, I don't know about firestorm but if anything Nymthae would be able to direct you in the right course to do that.
LuckyLukeI looked through the league / tournament submissions we got in june to get an idea of what formats we got:
6v6: 12 (broken download: 1)
9v9: 21
4v4: 5 (broken download: 1)
A:R: 2
Total submissions: 40
So definitely the majority was highlander. Either way we don't have the manpower to go through every premiership / invite match to look for possible Top10 clips. If you see something awesome, please feel free to submit it.
What about submissions for the moments of glory? I'm 100% sure there were more than 40 submissions for a month given you have more than 100k subs. I mean, we got 2.5k subs and had 11 submissions this month for example and there's no possible way you would get only 40 submissions.
It would probably be for the best to transfer some moment of glory submissions over to top10 plays, a lot of these get through the submission process when they're lobbies anyways so I don't think that would change much honestly.
I Know i've submitted plays better than this, for both top 10 and moments of glory and they've never made it in. Some of them from High officials as well. So I don't know what the selection process is but as people mentioned there's definitely a bias towards A:R, 4v4, and the likes. There's no way you could possible classify Herr_P play against the best team in europe and contender to best team in the world below a sub-par A:R match where 5 people can't aim at a scout.
Welp, you're still better off than Shintaz key bindings
WandumI feel like this will be one of the most important games of the entire tournament.
Honestly the group stages don't matter that much, it's more of a testing field to see how teams react to eachother. Last year Epsilon also completely dominated the groups and then lost on saturday.
Now when (and if) this match happens on Saturday that will be another thing
edit: I dont uderstand why are discussion threads already being created for day 2 and 3? Surely would have been better to create them on that day?
