#263 Fantasy TF2: Let’s do this! in Projects

Lippy is listed as scout when he has been playing solly (does this affect point attribution, because he just had a massive 16 airshots last game and I had him on my team)

Also comedown doesnt seem to be playing (I had him in my first week team and replaced him for lippy)

Also I noticed while the 4-25 game vs reason was going on the transfers were still open, I had already spent my transfers so I couldnt try it but does this mean someone could abuse it and swap players mid game if they saw someone was underperforming?

SideshowI don't think it's ETF2L's place to ban people for betting on or against their own team. It's not their site. The only thing you should be banned from ETF2L for is if you throw games or are betting on teams with the knowledge that games are gonna be thrown. As for people just betting against themselves (which is normally gonna happen in ignorance of the rules by a player on a bad team) just let cherry warn them, nullify the bet and if necessary ban them from saloon.

How is it not etf2l responsibility to prevent and educate players from engaging in bets that could affect the outcome of matches?

I don't even understand how a league (despite how professional it is) would find it acceptable to "bet against your own team" as long as you don't throw the game, like, where the hell do you draw the line? So now you are free to bet against your own team assuming your team is already not favorite? Isn't that completely retarded and doesn't it undermine the basic principle of competition? Sorry but I can't really see a defense for etf2l stance on allowing bets on your own games.

SideshowETF2L's stance is more that they don't think it's up to them to regulate the betting, and it should be done by Cherry. I think that's sensible and Cherry's view that betting on your own team but not against is a good idea.

However I don't agree with removing the spread bets. Every point matters in a season and saying that there is "no incentive to play fairly" and expecting people to throw games now that ETF2L is not going to ban you for betting against yourself is dumb. 3 reasons why:

Sorry but that etf2l stance is like they're washing their hands of this mess so they dont have anything to do with it when it's clear they should just outright ban betting on the games you are involved in. It's really shameful that they even condone such behaviour.

As for removing bets I dont agree as well seeing as just the other day in the hl finals a team with 80% odds lost and there have been numerous examples where underdogs do win, I think unless it's a clear 1st or 2nd seed against the last, the games should just have normal bets.

As for reducing hl bets I dont really understand the decision, if it's due to the etf2l decision I guess it's a fair response otherwise I think etf2l prem HL is probably the best and most unpredictable competition to have bets for. UGC is a joke as far as HL in europe goes and if you're expecting more serious games there then I would think again.

SheepylolCherry has the power. Its up to him. I don't think we should just close it now however what i'm saying is if prem games are being DDoS'd constantly I think it needs to be shut down.

Why on hell would you shut down a community website because some poor fucker can't handle losing a bet, you're actually just giving him importance he doesn't deserve.

What you need is harsher punishments for people caught red handed, ex: I have seen plenty players still betting on their own games despite it being clear in saloon rules (and I think it was also added to etf2l rules) that you can't bet on yourself, just apply harsh bans (same as cheating) to people found betting on their own games or caught manipulating bets/games, but actually apply them, not only add to the rules and then do nothing about it. .

As for ddos itself, as sonny black said, if someone wants to dos you he will be able to do it no matter what, even without saloon, it has happened before, I knew this cunt in the Portuguese community that ddosed (or so he said) a etf2l final a couple years ago (just for the lols he said), recently he was caught cheating and got banned, my point is, people who ddoss games for losing bets are the same kind of people that would go to the length of cheating in a league, it's all the same kind of scum and the least importance you give them the better. Just keep things going as usual but enforce hard punishments if people are found, nothing else you can do about it.

#10 ETF2L Highlander Season 8: Media Roundtable in News
saamWait does Europe not have 6v6 and Highlander going on at the same time?

We have 2 HL seasons and 3 6v6 seasons per year, that means that while the HL season collides for a couple of weeks most of the HL main season is while the 6v6 offseason is in effect.

Personally I love this as I play both gamemodes and having hl mostly during 6v6 offseason allows me to be keen on both without neglecting any team.

Also regarding the loch and load, it's ridiculously OP atm, in the sense that if you don't run it against a demo which is using it, you are at a disadvantage, that's enough to warrant a ban for me. Don't get me wrong, I really love the weapon, even before I used to pub a lot with it, but the buff to it was kinda too big.

#27 ETF2L Premiership Week 1: 4-25 vs. Wonderland in Events
fireindaarcadeCan I get a summary of what happened? Probably won't be able to watch the vid till tomorrow.

some people made a scene because lupus underperformed pretty hard on his prem debut (calling him pickup hero etc, tbh he really does play like a beast in pickups), lupus then left the team on etf2l after the game as well as forsaken only to come back 20 mins later pretending it was all a ruse.

All's well that ends well
