Another version, another mid :D

Here's my feedback just from going around the map a bit, particularly mid, I think the rest of the map seems ok and the changes were fine.

That triangle between the rock and the platform is really awkward, you should rework that somehow. The pack locations seem a bit forced and I think 2 large ammo packs so close its not the best decision, I circled possible lcations for both packs, of course Im not sure how this plays out Im just going off what I feel wouild be more natural and not unbalanced.

The huts on the sides look really out of place and forced, and to be honest they make the mid really tight, where before there was a complaint that the mid was too open now it feels too cornered with those 2 houses, to be honest I would remove them entirely and make the entrance from cave kind of a semi open house.

Also the mid itself looks really bland, like cherry said I think some more flair to it would be a great improvement.

#13 Resume advice? in Off Topic

From what I gather it's kinda used interchangeably around here, altough very few people if any use the term résumé, since its a french term. Pretty much everyone calls it a CV and it doesn't necessarily mean it's a 5 page document with the story of your life. My first CV was only 1 page.

Except if they ask for a presentation letter or cover letter in your CV, in which case that's the first page and the CV itself is from the 2nd page onwards.

There's also the europass model which is kinda of a CV template set by the european union which is a bit more indepht in some areas and you can generate it automatically on their website. Some companies already ask for a CV in the europass model, but it's not really that widespread in Portugal.

#10 Resume advice? in Off Topic

One thing I have learned is, don't make just one CV, make a template and then adapt/change each one accordingly to the job you're applying to. It's a bit more work but it pays off.

Other than that check some templates online and change it up according to your preferences.

SideshowNever prioritise traps over splash damage, please please please. You are literally doing god's work by removing these splash bug areas from your map, they drive every soldier main insane.

Well to be fair removing trap spots "drive demo mains insane" too :D

#12 Just Wondering if i can start. in Q/A Help

You can absolutely start competitive at any level. You will struggle dm wise and with the 6s mechanics at first, but there's no better thing you can do to improve than actually play a season of competitive.

If you pubstomp pubs as of now, imagine with a few competitive seasons on your belt.

You are gonna get stomped plenty of times in competitive, but don't let that discourage you. Practise your dm, be it MGE, dm or whatever you prefer and practise your gamesense/mechanics by playing tf2center/pickups, at the begining your improvement is really noticeable so it's gonna be very rewarding when you start hitting shots and making plays you would never be able to make before you got into competitive.

Also don't be afraid to use your mic, good communication is an absolute must in high levels of competitive and practising good calling and letting go of that little fear is the best thing you can do.

Also if you wanna read up on some basic mechanics / tips, guides etc, drop by Comp.tf which is a competitive focused tf2 wiki which should help you clear up some doubts you might have

#30 Robbers steal 300 million dollars in jewelry in Off Topic

Impressive how they managed to drill a 20 inches deep 18 inches wide hole in reinforced concrete without raising flags.

The ammount of planning that must have gone into this thing. It's kind of amazing. 300M in one day and no one got hurt, that's a win in my books.

the rock is a very irregular prop where u sometimes will be caught sliding while the fence works as kinda of a step very useful for soldiers. And even more so for scouts which can toy around it a lot and avoid splash damage. Overall I think it's fine the way it is. Sure it's a bit abused in HL but I dont see how you could change it without impacting some of 6s core classes that make good use of it.

#75 inb4 dead game in TF2 General Discussion
kKaltUuI don't get the hate about hosting tournaments.

Yes, it's hard work
Yes, it's ungrateful work

But once you get the hang of it, hosting cups like Ultiduo cup #5, Archimedes cup, One Night Cups, or even invitationals become easier and give the community stuff to do. Seasons are boring and take a LOT of commitment. Joining small cups give teams the time to develop themselves in a professional setting (officials) without the weeks and weeks of commitment of scrimming for one or two maps.

As for TF2 being dead, if it was I wouldn't spend the time and effort doing what I do at etf2l center or saloon. It isn't as big as CSGO or LOL or Dota for obvious reasons, but it is what the community makes of it. And from what I see at iseries, esea lans or even small cups is that there are plenty people willing to play a good game of TF2.

Back when I had the time and resources and hosted cups through comp.tf that was the most high stress environment ever and still was one of the most rewarding experiences I had through the game. Yes, it was fuckin hard having 30 guys steam message you at the same time with retarded questions because they lack basic reading comprehension to read 10 lines of rules or because they were too lazy to do so. Yes it was hard being put on the spot with problems or issues you would never even imagine that would come up and having to come up with improvised solutions on extremely short notice. But then seeing it all come together in the end, specially all the people tuning in to streams was all worth it in the end.

As for these kind of threads, I wish there was a sage button on these forums, it's what they deserve.
